Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

When we first got our puppy, we purchased pet insurance through VPI. We paid our monthly fee for several years with no claims. Then 1 day our dog (3 years old at the time) got a blockage. Emergency vet, surgery, and hospital stay later, we racked up a $1,600 bill. I wasn't worried, I had pet insurance. Well, they only paid us $400 (and that was after months of fighting with them, originally it was $200). We immediately canceled our VPI policy and I went on the hunt to find a better company. That is when I found this website and saw all the great ratings that Healthy Paws had. We decided to join and it was the BEST choice! We have now been with Healthy Paws for 6 years and have never had a single issue. We have had about 10 claims, including 2 different mass removal surgeries and the reimbursement process is fast, efficient and extremely fair. They even have an app where you just take a picture of the receipt! I have not had to call them with a single argument or fight about what they covered or what they reimbursed us for. It has been such a great experience with Healthy Paws and the best part? They send you an email after your claim from a real person (not an automated email) asking if your animal is okay. If you respond, they email you back. I would recommend them to anyone who would listen.

I have had Healthy Paws for almost 10 years. Im so glad I have it for my dog. I have used it on a few occasions.It is easy to summit claims. They are very fast when they reimbursing you.I have recommended Healthy paws in the past and will continue to in the future. I know my baby is protected .

So far, all my claims (and this year there have been three!) have been processed promptly and without any issues. I sent the invoice and I received a check soon after. What drew me to Healthy Paws was its no lifetime caps. This is very important in an expensive city. I signed up my puppy from the day of adoption. Financially, a very wise decision! I don't have to panic when the vet suggests diagnostic tests or medication.

We have Healthy Paws for both our dogs and have never had any issues getting claims processed in a timely and efficient manner. Customer service has always been helpful and friendly. When one of dogs recently ate a portion of a tennis ball before the Christmas holiday he spent 2 nights at the vet racking up the bills. It was such a relief to know that we didn't have to worry about getting reimbursed. Once submitted our claim was processed in about a week and the check received shortly thereafter. They even followed up afterward to see how Oliver was doing. For a small annual deductible and 90% reimbursement rate, our $37/dog monthly bill is well worth it in our minds.

I was totally surprised as to the professionalism and the speedy process for my claim. I never had insurance for my pet before but after many thousand of dollars for my beloved Mr.Gizmo, who didn't make it through a tragic ordeal, I decided to look in to the different policies offered for pets. My new baby- Trooper was just a pup when I signed up, he was in great health! Healthy Paws was the most reasonable priced and seemed to provide the best coverage. I never thought I would need them so quick, but I did! They paid the claim just as advertised and I receive my check very quickly. It was almost $1,300.00 from Healthy Paws and it paid just as it said it would!! I recommend them to evry pet owner that I know.
