Hassle free and simple reimbursement for surgery

Quick summary: Submitting a claim with Healthy Paws is fast and easy and reimbursement took only 3 weeks with no hassle at all. My 1.5 year old lab/boxer mix had TPL surgery which cost ~$4K. I've been a customer of Healthy Paws Pet Insurance since Sept 2018. We signed up a few months after rescuing our pup. I submitted the claim a few days after his surgery and they requested his medical history which I provided a day later. The reimbursement was promptly posted to my bank account within a few days. Within 3 weeks of my pup's surgery, I was reimbursed 80% of the costs less a $250 deductible. What would have cost me $4K ended up costing only $1K. I had written off the $4K assuming there was going to be some insurance loophole as to why it wasn't covered under his policy. But, Healthy Paws reimbursed me with no problems at all. I recommend Healthy Paws to anyone looking for pet insurance.

great coverage, fast and easy to submit claims and get reimbursed

I am so glad that I got HealthyPaws insurance for my dog while she was a puppy. Insurance has saved me thousands of dollars as she developed chronic urinary tract infections that led to kidney issues. Because of the coverage, we were able to catch these problems early, could afford aggressive testing and treatment that saved her life. Now that our dog is healthy but requires numerous daily medications to manage what turned out to be an autoimmune issue, HealthyPaws' 90% coverage and FAST claim review and reimbursement process is a godsend. The app is easy to use - I take a photo of the vet bill before even leaving the office, and am reimbursed by direct deposit within days.

My experience with Healthy Paws

I am so thankful I had Health Paws to cover such an unexpected emergency. 3 years ago, when I got my rescue, at first I thought "pet insurance? why? What can possibly happen? Its not like she's an outdoor dog. Its not like she will run outside into traffic. After all, I AM responsible." Well guess what? My Maltese shih tzu mix was playing with her "squirrel" toy in her pen, and shook it (as they tend to do), and the next thing I hear is a yelp. I went to her and she was laying there looking sad. A few days later, she wasn't feeling "right"... you can just tell. I took her to the vet, who revealed she had a few cracked teeth. Apparently she shook her toy and hit the side of the pen causing the cracked teeth. She's doing WONDERFUL now. But after paying $3,800 for "canine dental surgery", and confirming with Health Paws that the surgery IS covered, my baby is doing great! The surgery came off without a hitch. Getting reimbursed 90% less a $100 deductible save me THOUSANDS. I have told all my friends and relatives about the Health Paws service. I am a Health Paws customer for life! Its well worth it !

I can't imagine that there is a better pet insurance company out there

My review of Healthy Paws is a 5*, especially for service and value. I'll start with our back story and then describe how great it has been to deal with them. I will try to touch on some of the points that made me apprehensive prior to signing up in order to ease your nerves. We contemplated health insurance for our first and only pet, but didn't decide to sign up until just before our pup's first birthday. We began by doing some research on some of the most prominent insurance companies that our vet and local pet store promoted. After reading about the companies via reviews (just like this one) and comparing, we decided that we would choose Healthy Paws, and we are SO HAPPY we did! It is so easy and painless to deal with Healthy Paws! We chose the 90% plan. So, we pay the vet bills up front and submit an image of the paid receipt into the mobile app or website. Then, Healthy Paws reimburses us 90% of all qualifying charges after the deductible has been covered. It seems like everything is covered except for preventative care, like: booster shots and annual visits. Things that we have had covered were: x-rays, a knee surgery, medications and physical/rehab therapy. Once we have submitted a claim (a process that takes less than 2 minutes), we receive email notifications until we eventually receive our reimbursement check in the mail (normally within 2-3 weeks). It is great! The value of insurance far exceeds its cost. The cost for our pup will be different from yours, because of the age of our pup and her breed I suppose. The cost of vet care will probably be different too. That said, the money we have saved from only our pup's knee surgery is about equal to what we saved by having surgery. It is so worth it to have the peace of mind that whatever happens, Healthy Paws will have our backs! In addition, Healthy Paws cares about us. Since her surgery about a month ago, multiple people have reached out to us to see how our pup is doing. We even got a get-well card in the mail! My only regret: waiting almost a year to sign-up with Healthy Paws. They have been fantastic in terms of value & service, and this is consistent across every single interaction we have had.

Healthy Paws was there for every step leading up to and after our dog's surgery. They were helpful in explaining our benefits and prompt in paying the claims. It was wonderful.
