Very responsive

Fast response and easy to submit online claims for my dog’s surgery . The claims came through quickly but I didn’t even know it was approved. As I did not hear for a few days and did call the customers service which was answered quickly and they looked up the claims for me. I like how responsive they are. Minor suggestion would be to inform me the claims were approved. I do like them sending me email to see how my dog was doing after the surgery.- nice touch.

I had my insurance with Healthy Paws…

I had my insurance with Healthy Paws since my dog 🐶 was a puppy.I signed up with Healthy Paws 12/30/2018, my wife recently said why do we not have coverage anymore. I called the office and they tell me that a payment did not go through on my American Express account. I called up and they told me that an e mail was sent to me as well as a letter to my home. I questioned the representative and said there was no letter addressed to my home address and i did not receive an e mail canceling my account. I asked why they did not call me since my dog has been with them over 6 years and paying monthly always on time. They said they can’t do anything and they won’t insure our dog due to the fact that she is 7 years old. I find this company not willing to be reasonable and try to work this out this situation with us. I did not have one claim with Healthy Paws in over 6 years. If a company is so well respected in the market place why not show compassion to the people that support your company. I would not recommend or use this company based on how we were treated and pushed aside due to the age of our dog being 7 years old. I asked can we be reinstated to our policy, but they did not even want to entertain any idea of addressing our concerns. It is unfortunate that this company feels this way to loyal member like us.

Insanely more than doubling my premium

I had a great experience w/ Healthy Paws and luckily I only had to file 1 claim and they paid it quickly. I got an email from them informing me of their absurd premium increase, more than double, which is absolutely insane. I saw there's a lawsuit against for the same reason. This is from them-" Current Monthly Premium: $68.00 • New Monthly Premium Starting in 63 Days: $155.25." I cancelled my policy and will be getting a more affordable plan elsewhere.

Always thankful for Healthy Paws!

Kelsey will be eleven this coming July and we enrolled in Healthy Paws immediately upon her adoption in 2015. We always feel that we can seek out the best treatment options for her because we have HP to help us make those decisions for her care. She has been through surgery for soft tissue sarcoma, multiple ultrasounds to follow a splenic concern, a very recent run in with a porcupine - ouch! and is having another surgery soon. We couldn't do what we do for her without Healthy Paws and we highly recommend them. Thank you Healthy Paws for helping us keep our girl healthy!

Avoid

Avoid! I've been with this company with two dogs for 7 and 8 years, dogs have been insured since about 4-6 months of age. No issues with small claims over the years, however premiums increase regularly, to the point where I had to cut back to high deductible (more emergency style coverage), verses low deductible in the past. Recently had dentals done on both dogs and the company is requesting essentially full medical records to process the claim "to see when the condition started". This seems a bit ridiculous given the dental are appropriate for age and the dogs have been insured through these fools pretty much their entire lives. I dread the idea of trying to fight these guys to get anything major covered as this has already been a huge hassle and really seems unnecessary for common age appropriate medical procedures. The kicker is their call center is somewhere in southwest Asia, I've called several times over the years and have found it near impossible to have a productive interaction. I stay with them due to preexisting medical conditions but am at the point of just cancelling because it feels like scam if they won't payout for valid claims. After the deductible it will be a few hundred dollars back to me - a big deal for me, probably not so much for them.
