We’ve been fortunate to have Healthy Paws as partners in our dog Ripley’s life since he was a puppy—over 12 years now—and we truly can’t say enough good things about them. From the small bumps and scrapes along the way to the big, scary stuff—like Ripley’s recent emergency surgery—they’ve been there every step. Ripley became very sick and needed a 7-day ICU stay along with the removal of his gallbladder and spleen. We knew it would be a costly procedure, but because we had Healthy Paws, we were able to focus on what really mattered: making the best decision for Ripley's health without the added stress of wondering how we’d pay for it. Not only was the claims process incredibly fast and straightforward, but what really blew us away was the personal touch. They followed up with heartfelt emails checking in on Ripley and even sent sweet well wishes and “belly rubs” from afar. That kind of care goes far beyond what you'd expect from an insurance company. Healthy Paws was recommended to me back before I got my German Shepherd and wow I am so glad I took that advise. My guy has been through a lot and they have payed for majority of his most expensive surgeries (mostly dental) and even some stuff with regular vet check-ups which isn't typically covered with a lot of insurance companies. I have had Healthy Paws Insurance for my dog for nearly 2 years. My dog just recently had a torn ACL (a CCL in dogs)--this was major surgery. I was in awe at how fast ( within 2 weeks) I was refunded from Healthy Paws. They covered 80% of a nearly $6000 surgery. They directly deposited the money into my account with no problem. Then they send me an email asking how he's doing. I am so grateful this company was recommended to me by a friend!

I've used and appreciated Healthy Paws for my (now senior) dog (aged 12) since 2016. Every year they've had to increase rates slightly; I understand, the cost of care increases, etc. Today I got an email they're increasing my monthly cost from $90.63 to $249.87 - a 2.75x increase. While previously they've offered to adjust your annual deductible or reimbursement percentage to help you find a monthly cost that works for you, they've throttled the options available so the lowest this can get is $201/month. An absolute RACKET. Everyone would be better off putting $90 (or whatever you can afford) into a high yield savings account every month.
