Healthy Paws is totally AMAZING!

I purchased Premium Pet Health Insurance from Healthy Paws in 2013...........Thank God! They have been exceptional in customer service , reimbursement & follow up. Our 13 year young Goldendoodle, Bella , recently went through two life threatening illnesses within the last 2 months...Our bills totaled over $11.000, and Healthy Paws didn't hesitate to reimburse us for 90% of our claim. The people that work there are compassionate and caring. Our Bella has bounced back beautifully ( still getting mistaken for a Pup ! ) - thank you Healthy Paws for everything!

Extremely happy we chose Healthy Paws

We, unfortunately, had to use Healthy Paws quite a big during our first year of having a puppy. Thankfully, we made the right choice. They have an easy-to-use app, do a good job of sending you updates to track claims, pay quickly, and have a great service staff if you need to reach out. I really hope to use them less in year two; however, if we do have to use them I know we're in good hands!

Ugh disappointing

Ugh, I was happy with this company for the first year. They had a really good rate, and good customer service. I went everywhere extolling its virtues. They also paid out quickly on my cat's expensive operation. Then...... 3 years in and my premiums have gone up almost 100%! Customer service has deteriorated greatly, with reps who put you on hold and literally never come back on the line. Emails go ignored. Complain on Facebook, they delete your comment. I have to wonder if my complain about their service is what made my premiums go up 30% this year alone (happened right afterwards). I realize all pet insurance companies do this, but HP claims it doesn't cover exams, medicines, or wellness checks and standard shots, etc to keep premiums down. Yet mine keep going up up up. Shame, they were so good for awhile.

Healthy Paws Saved Bentley's Life

I co-founded a rescue in So. CA. 4.5 years ago we pulled Bentley from the shelter. He was 8 months old and was deemed Rescue Only because he didn't pass his temperament test. We found out that his owner surrendered him to the shelter because he was cited for having two many dogs. I could only imagine how scared Bentley was - being away from his pack, never socialized and now alone in the shelter. Our rescue pulled him and I, personally, fostered him for a year. Any dog that I personally foster, I personally insure with Healthy Paws just because I never want to be in the position of having to make a life and death decision based on cost. So even when Bentley went to live with his Forever Foster Mom I kept him insured. GOOD THING I DID because a few months ago, he needed emergency surgery due to a foxtail that had not just embedded in his chest but got inside and traveled into his chest cavity. He needed a rib removed and some muscle but the amazing vets at METROPOLITAN ANIMAL SPECIALITY HOSPITAL were able to save his life. The surgery and follow ups came to about $6600 and there's no way our rescue could have afforded that - so thank God for Healthy Paws. I sing their praises on every thread that asks about Pet Insurance and it's gotten to the point where I'm not the only one now who responds "HEALTHY PAWS." Now there are CHORUSES of people singing the praises of HEALTHY PAWS.
