Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

After being loyal customers for 9 years, the rates for my dog have gone up over 200%, and the deductible increased and reimbursement rate decreased. Extremely disappointing how healthy paws is punishing pet owners for their failure to plan for aging pets and making it unaffordable for those with elderly pets to get health insurance, because any other option will leave pre existing conditions uncovered.

have had Healthy Paws Pet insurance for years… I would highly recommend It to everyone. With my last dog, he had to have 2 TPLO's done And Healthy Paws covered everything no questions asked. With my most recent dog he got into a toxin of some sort and was extremely ill. I took him to the emergency vet and he ended up in the ICU for over 3 days. Having Healthy Paws gave me the peace of mind that no matter what Ruger needed I would be able to have done. It's comforting to know that when my dog was so sick and we weren't sure how it was going to turn out that I was able to give him the best chance without the worry of how I was going to pay for it. I'm happy to report that I brought Ruger home almost 2 weeks ago And he is just about back to his happy healthy self. Our cost were Just about $3000 for his stay and treatment at the emergency vet hospital and Healthy Paws covered all but my coinsurance. I paid the bill upon picking him up and within 24 hours. The money was back in my account. So if you want the peace of mind of not having to worry about, can I afford this for my pet or not I suggest Healthy Paws Pet Insurance!

They can pay their claims. My dog died in May, 2025 and I have paid 8 years of premiums on time. When I filed the only claim for Lola they have given me the biggest runaround and as of October, 2025 I have not seen a dime. Now they only answer my inquires with a standard email about going to their help page. I have filed a Complaint with BBB and that got their attention for about 3 weeks. I am now filing a Complaint with the Georgia Insurance Commissioner's office and will take them to small claims court if this doesn't yield results. My dog died and they could care less. Horrible Company!!!

Healthy Paws had a quick review and reimbursement payment of claims after my dog went to the emergency animal hospital for advanced pneumonia for several days that resulted in a very expensive stay. I was able to pay for services before charges hit the credit card. There was enough stress as to whether she was going to make it to not have to worry about costs of medical bills to keep her alive and then recover. My dog is doing very well now. Healthy Paws even checked in with me after my dog returned from the hospital to see how she was doing afterwards. I highly recommend this pet insurance to anybody as it was also reasonably priced and was worth it for peace of mind and return on investment for a beloved pet and they actually cared as did not have to reach out afterwards.
