Not worth it if your pet has pre-existing conditions
We enrolled for this insurance, however it was not worth the investment. One of our dogs, who is 11 years old, had a surgery to get her tail amputated due to a growth in her tail. Due to the cost of the biopsy ($750) we chose not to get the biopsy. When Embrace processed the claim for the surgery, they denied the claim arguing that the growth could be associated with a pre-existing lipoma on our dogs torso. Also, without a biopsy, there was no way of Embrace checking of the growth was related to prior health conditions. Also, of your pet is diagnosed with any condition within the first 5 months of your policy, it is immediately considered a pre-existing conditions. It's not worth the investment (our rate was just increased to $226/month for 2 dogs). We decided it's better to create a savings account using the monthly fees.
