Underwriting to find any pre existing issues.

Applied over phone on September 12, 2024 paying in full for one year ($600.16) for my 10 year old feline. Was not aware that the underwriting process would take this amount of time. Now concerned, that I dropped my other carrier, Nationwide too soon without making sure that my pet is covered with no waiting period.I have an annual check up due this month and now on hold. I do know that they will be looking for any pre existing conditions. Wish we had Obama Care for pets! Either way, I’ll keep my appt for my kitty no matter if she is covered or not. The online and telephone experience from Embrace is good and very friendly. Updates via email would be helpful. Last update was 10 days ago on a CC from my vet requesting medical records. I called Embrace when I received that email correspondence this past week to correct the age that was reported as incorrect. I was told by the very nice person who answered my call, that they had the medical records and that it was now in review.

THE BEST PET INSURANCE!

Embrace is the most incredible pet insurance there is. The custom service representatives are always quick to help, friendly and very compassionate. If it wasn't for Embrace, I don't know how I would have been able to cover the cost of chemotherapy treatments for my pet. I couldn't recommend them enough!

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
