I no longer recommend this insurance to…

I used to recommend this insurance to everyone, no more. My dog had a vet visit for her teeth and the vet also checked her ears. Because of checking her ears I was punished with a one year exemption for "skin" issues. Apparently ears belong to her skin. Even though there was nothing wrong with her ears just because they were checked I am not able to claim anything skin related for one year. I haven't even claimed anything before but because she was treated for a spider bite BEFORE I insured her she has a so called preexisting skin condition. That banned me for one year. The year would have been over in a couple of weeks but because her ears were checked an entire year was added to the exemption. Unreal!!!!

Great company UNTIL they increase your premium over 40% in one year!!!!!

I have been a loyal and happy Embrace customer for 6+ years. I am very quick to recommend Embrace to any pet owners and I am constantly talking about the positive experiences I have had in my time being a customer. However, I am currently EXTREMELY disappointed. My policy just renewed and the premium increase was 40%! I’m almost paying double what I was last year. When I called to see what could be done for a loyal customer, the customer service reps were no help. I am now researching other pet insurance companies to find one that will value my loyalty and commitment to my pets.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
