A Nearly 100% Premium Increase
I’ve been with Embrace for about seven years. Until now, I had no major issues and only filed a few small claims. This past year, my dog needed ACL surgery, an expensive but necessary procedure that Embrace covered. I appreciated that, but any goodwill I had evaporated when I received my renewal notice.
My annual premium is jumping from $1,300 to $2,500. That’s almost a 100% increase in a single year. When I called to ask why, I was told it wasn’t because of my large claim, but honestly, it’s hard to believe. How else can you explain doubling the cost?
This kind of pricing is not just frustrating, it’s punishing. Many of us can’t afford that kind of sudden increase, especially after already paying thousands over the years for coverage we hoped we'd never need. I understand costs rise as pets age, but this is excessive and feels exploitative.
Pet insurance should protect pet owners from financial strain, not create more of it. Embrace needs to be transparent and accountable for how these massive rate hikes are justified, because right now it feels like loyal customers are being taken advantage of the moment they actually use the coverage they’ve been paying for.
I expected an increase, but this is absolutely unacceptable.
