Excellent Service

We recently brought a new dog into our family. Neither my wife nor I hae ever owned a dog before. We heard from a variety of people that we needed to get health insurance for our new addition. After doigng some research, we decided to go with Embrace because of their good reviews and reputation. Well, now that I experiecned their helpfulness and efficiency first-hand, I am grateful we made the choice to purchase an Embrace policy. We recently submitted a wellness claim for reimbursement and it was refreshing to realize how easy submission was and how quick we received our reimbursement. Keep up the good work Embrace!

Very good

The dealings I have had so far with Embrace have been very positive. Customer service reps have been very nice & pleasant to speak with. The claims dept kept me informed of my claim status and so far I am pleased with Embrace insurance.

Working good so far

Actually bought this policy to combat Murphy, you know, the guy with all the "laws". Have not needed this as much as we thought in the first 5 months, so that is good but we did have a few claims which have simply been applied to our deductible which we haven't met (yet), but I'm waiting for that next injury with my active dog that will cost me $500. At that point, I can give full accolades of coverage. We did do the extra paperwork neceassry to waive the 6 month ortho report, this was simple. However, we had to go back and forth a couple times with the Embrace team and our Vet to clarify some conditions that were at first deemed existing or re-occuring conditions that would not be covered. Once we had this cleared up, things have been smooth. I recommend that you follow up with Embrace and your vet promptly if you see any restrictions put to your policy. Often the evaluation from Embrace is based on literal words on reports and appeared to be taken out of context. Our vet had to clarify illness reports.

$200 reimbursement for spay received in a week!

Opted for the wellness plan for our pup, knowing that with vaccines & spaying would easily hit > $200. Received our check for $200 (max/yr) within 7-10 days of submitting. Great service!

Fantastic! Customer Service Plus More

Can't believe I am about to wax poetic about an insurance company (aren't they the bad guys?) but here goes-- Reasons to use Embrace: 1. Transparency. Send them your dog's medical records and they will tell you what they won't cover. If you don't like the result they will refund your first month's premium, so you know ahead of time what won't be covered. There are no hidden schedules of "customary charges" that you are not allowed to see. Send them a vet bill and they send you the percentage you paid for with an explanation. And oh yes, you get a real person's name to email or talk to if you have a question. 2. Customer Service on every level. They email you when they have received the fax from your vet or from you with the claim. They email you when they have examined the claim and tell you what amount will be reimbursed with it broken down (in English not insurancese) and when they will send the check (within 15 days so far). 3. They actually send the checks when they say. 4. Above and beyond: Embrace recently emailed me to ask if I had received a check (I had not emailed them).I had not received it so they informed me that they had reissued the check and gave me the date when to expect it. Several days later a hand written note of apology and a $5 Starbucks gift card arrived as they had apparently been having a problem. The new check arrived promptly thereafter. Who does that? 3..Flexability: choose your pet's plan (and if the rates seem higher than some other plans check whether those plans pay on the actual vet bill or not. You get what you pay for).

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
Embrace Pet Insurance protects over 100,000 pets across the U.S. with nose-to-tail accident and illness protection. In addition to its pet insurance policy, Embrace offers a Wellness Rewards program to help cover the cost of routine veterinary care, grooming and training. Its Healthy Pet Deductible™, the industry’s first and only diminishing deductible feature, is included with every policy as standard. For every policy sold, Embrace donates $2 to a pet-related charity, as well as offering additional funding and support to shelters and other charitable organizations.
