Pretty bad experience with Embrace
Writing a review here because Embrace asked me to in one of their emails.
I put in a claim with Embrace for a vet visit near the end of my first year. I knew it wouldn't get me up to the deductible, but I wanted to see how the process would go. Embrace received my claim, and only then, after 11 months as a customer, got around to looking at the medical records I had sent in.
At that point, I learned that everything my dog has ever seen the vet for, including diarrhea she had in 2014, is a preexisting condition.
I had a long back and forth with one of the agents, and it was generally frustrating. I tried to argue against the diarrhea being a preexisting persistent condition, and at one point that agent copied information from the policy (on the time period between intestinal issues after which the issue can be assumed to be gone, 12 months I think) and misrepresented it to me as the reason that my dog could _never_ have any stomach issues covered. Maybe I'm wrong, but I found that whole bit offensive, and to be a serious overreach as a way to set up denials in the future.
I am genuinely glad that others have good experiences with Embrace. It's obviously difficult to deal with these sorts of things. I just left my interaction feeling like Embrace was happy to profit from my love for my dog and concern for her wellbeing, without giving much in return.
So I canceled my account and switched to another company that my vet recommended.
