Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

Great first experience making a claim. I have had them for a few years and have never needed to make a claim and was nervous but it was nice and easy!

Embrace Pet Insurance is the best insurance company I’ve ever had! In his 3rd year of coverage, my dog had a claim for a vomiting episode that required extensive labs & an ultra sound. First of all, my deductible had decreased by $100 because he had been claim-free for 2 years (bonus!), so I only had a $200 deductible to satisfy before the claims were paid at 80%. I like how I was able to initially “design” my plan with a deductible of my choice and coinsurance amounts. After the claims were submitted, Embrace communicated quickly that they had received the claims and that they were under review. Within 8 business days, the claims were approved and paid! I was even able to set up direct deposit of the reimbursement amount into my bank account. How convenient was that! All communication was very clear and timely. Before originally selecting Embrace, I had researched a number of other “top” pet insurance companies, but found that Embrace had plans that worked most similarly like “human” insurance plans. I highly recommend Embrace to any pet owner!

Embrace has been a lifesaver! Everyone has been kind and efficient, processing claims and answering questions quickly, which is important when dealing with stressful illnesses with your pet. I've had several claims, but their coverage of my senior pet and kind treatment of me after her passing was something I'll never forget. I've had multiple pets for years and am active in rescue. Before Embrace, I was often asked if I recommended insurance and never knew how to answer. After getting insurance, I wholeheartedly recommend it and will never be without it again. Yes, the pre-existing conditions thing can be annoying (but that's with any insurance). And I feel like some of the paperwork could be streamlined (with online/forms routing). But overall, those are minor and it's 100% worth it for peace of mind when an emergency hits. If you're the kind of parent that would do anything for your pet, I would look no further than Embrace.

So glad we had the pet insurance for our dog because he had ruptured 2 disc in his lower back and had surgery last month. Embrace reimbursed us 80% of the bill. Only wished the claim could have been looked and sooner so we didn't have to wait 2 or 3 weeks for our reimbursement.

I have 5 dogs insured through Embrace. Four of them since December 2014. So, I have had a lot of experience with the claims process and Embrace customer service, etc. I HIGHLY recommend this company. Having written quite a few LONG previous reviews, I will keep this a bit shorter! This is such a "user friendly" company. NO HASSLES with claims whatsoever! They are processed within 7-15 days unless the vet has not given them all the info they need! You can log into your account and see where they are in the process and also see all the claims you may have previously filed with remaining coverage $$$, etc. If you have a question or concern, you actually get a LIVE person on the phone when you call and they are AWESOME at resolving any issues (not that I have had "issues" really!) I purchased the maximum yearly coverage ($15,000) but went for the high ($1,000) deductible to make the monthly premium more affordable. Embrace has covered SO many things for the two oldest dogs especially that I can NOT imagine not having this coverage. If you are considering get you canines of felines insured, do NOT wait! I have been through quite a few serious illnesses but not had to worry about the expense because I had Embrace. Be aware that all companies do a health history and that pre-existing conditions are not covered. But, get your dog or cat covered before issue arise! Nine months after I got the dogs covered, one of my dogs got a mast cell cancer diagnosis and needed surgery. She had a board certified surgeon take the proper margins and surgery was successful. Embrace was there to cover (minus deductible and the 10% I pay). The following year (2016) she had two more successful cancer surgeries (check your dog for lumps and bumps and remove early!!!) One of the surgeries required a CT scan to insure that the surgeon knew exactly where to cut to get the proper margins. Embrace covered EVERYTHING! They do not second guess the vet...if, the vet feels a treatment is needed, they have covered it. What more could you want? Twice (two different dogs) we have exceeded $14,000 in yearly reimbursement....get insurance!!!!
