Had my back

I have been very happy with Embrace pet insurance. I shopped a lot for a policy and felt most satisfied with Embrace. Since my cat has been insured with Embrace they have been most accommodating, have great customer service, and have honored their claims promptly.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Disgusting Company: This company is an absolute fraud and scam. We signed up under the recommendation of a few friends and they are ALL now considering canceling their policies with this company based on our experience. Our cat was diagnosed with heart disease almost 6 months AFTER we signed up. They tried to claim that this was a pre-existing condition. However, the two SPECIALISTS our cat has seen have both written letters based on their existence medical expertise/experience that there was no way our cat could have had heart disease in June or prior and that he was in great physical condition otherwise. The doctors said that it was actually "IMPOSSIBLE" (yes, they used the word impossible) for him to have heart disease and survive with it untreated for almost 5 months. Period. They ALSO stated that if he had been examined in June that there would be NO WAY this would have been diagnosed during a basic physical. They went on to say that even if we had ordered a full cardiac work up that it would still NOT have been diagnosed at that time. This disgusting company is still trying to claim that his condition was pre-existing since he didn't have an actual physical exam. The last time he was seen by our vet before this diagnosis was in June 2019 and we signed up with this company in June 2020. We did not take him in for an insurance exam because we were told they would only need orthopedic exams to be done in order to be covered. This was also confirmed with our friends that have been with Embrace and they were shocked to hear this is supposedly their policy which has not been stated to any of us. Since our pets did not have any orthopedic symptoms and COVID was rampant at that time, we didn't think it was necessary (based on our in-depth call with their customer service rep that signed us up) for any of our pets to have a vet exam and didn't think we needed to take them in and risk being exposed to COIVD (our home is high risk if we were to get COVID). This has been a battle since November of 2020, it is now March of 2021 and they are STILL trying to claim this was a pre-existing condition despite multiple letters from our vets that are specialists in their fields and when it comes to heart conditions and cats. Our sweet baby passed away a week ago due to this disease and sudden onset of heart failure. We are now having to argue back and forth with Embrace (i.e. the con artists of pet insurance) and deal with his passing at the same time. This has made the situation so much worse because we have to go back and forth with them knowing our baby is gone at the same time. This is literally the last thing we should have to be doing. He was the sweetest boy and now we are wasting so much time and emotion arguing with this company that is basically out to take money from hard working families such as ourselves. What makes this worse is that when we asked for the phone call where they claimed they were supposed to inform us of this policy, they refused, stating that they would listen to it and we would not be allowed to. Basically, we should totally take their word that it was discussed and should completely trust them. Yea. Right. Please take our advice and DO NOT sign up with them, they are disgusting and absolutely have no problem trying to get out of paying claims that are medically backed by doctors. We do extensive work with rescues and other animal organizations that are both in our state and across the country. We will be sharing our story with all of them and making sure no one else has to be put through the same nightmare we have with Embrace. I also notice that all of their responses to the HUNDREDS of HORRIBLE reviews on here are canned responses and the standard excuse they seem to use in regards to "pre-existing" conditions. Bottom line, you will pay an exorbitant amount of money each month with the mindset that you are being responsible and covering your fur babies if something bad were to happen. In reality, they will take your hard earned money and keep taking it. They will go out of their way to deny your claim and will REFUSE to look at absolutely irrefutable medical documentation because they just don't want to cover your pets. Their only goal is to take your money at the expense of your fur baby's well being.

Best pet insurance

Embrace has been a godsend to me; my rottie has had joint issues-he is only 5 but a rescue- and they paid out over 4k in the first year!! I collect from them every year, unfortunately, but they are reasonable with what they cover. I only have the accident/illness plan but has come in handy every year that I have had it!

Embrace Pet Insurance Claims Process is AWESOME

I am always impressed by the efficiency and effectiveness of Embrace's claims process. Clearly best in class. And, this time round, I noticed they've made it even more efficient.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
Embrace Pet Insurance protects over 100,000 pets across the U.S. with nose-to-tail accident and illness protection. In addition to its pet insurance policy, Embrace offers a Wellness Rewards program to help cover the cost of routine veterinary care, grooming and training. Its Healthy Pet Deductible™, the industry’s first and only diminishing deductible feature, is included with every policy as standard. For every policy sold, Embrace donates $2 to a pet-related charity, as well as offering additional funding and support to shelters and other charitable organizations.
