BUYER BEWARE choose a better company

Just know that they will say everything is pre-existing even on a six month old puppy and really what are you going to do about it? My own vet wrote them a letter, and still they dug their heels in. He died having seizures and couldnt stop the first ones we had ever seen as he was a puppy and he died that way..with no help from them. I spent 5k trying to save him over a three day ER period in Austin TX He had a seizure that wouldnt end, suddenly at 3am. It was covered. They said somehow he was pre-existing? Even though all the vets and i said otherwise and all the records too...I mean he just was born a few months prior, vets said this as well and we appealled...so disrespectful to my boy Waylon my love of a chocolate shih tzu. My world. To deny the whole thing, not one single thing did they cover. Lame, misleading. Expensive, devastating. Lame. Boggles the brain, seems shady. Can you afford to hire a team of lawyers? My vet and all their techs avoid this company now too based on what happened. They didnt pay one red penny. Thinking it was covered, I am now stuck with thousands to pay. So I will tell thousands of people and it will be better this way. I would rather know upfront so I switched to Lemonade and have Care Credit line for urgent issues with a better rate on repayment than embrace as well. Its going much better. Make sure you understand insurance, its not a guarantee at all. That handy little pre-existing loophole they love to jump through it and can pretty much stuff anything into it as a category and as I said what would you be willing to do about it? How much do you want to spend? I tell all my clients and all my owners this story. Show all the records, spread the word so other people dont get taken advantage of. Dont choose Embrace. I wish there was a way to block their corporate babble canned food response to this review. I think however, the truth can be felt, sensed even on this review...and this consoles me. Lemonade, Chewy and a few others are wonderful. Put your confidence into a better place than Embrace. (In honor of Waylon Brisket Jennings we miss you buddy)

Poorly Organization or Perhaps Overworked Specialists

Insurance specialists seem poorly organized and not good at what they do, imho. (Maybe they are just overworked.) These are my following true experiences with them: 1. Insurance Specialist updated a claim 9 days after their initial document request that the claim was “pending request documentation delivery.” However, the vet sent it the same day they requested 7 9 days prior. The hospital forward me the email and send me the notes in case they still hadn’t receive them. Worse part was that day I had just spoken to someone at Embrace and they said they hadn’t received anything which is why my case was still pending. This urged me to call the vet’s office. 2. My pet is a puppy. Mind you, we have gone to the vet mostly for routine care. Embrace had already requested all files pertaining to my fur baby. Yet, when I submitted a claim for an infection they requested all S.O.A.P notes because they have come to the realization that additional information was needed. This time it took them 21 days to realize they didn’t have all the files needed in order to process my claim. Once again, I go to my vets office and they showed me they had already send the requested documents. 3. Embrace specialists also only handles one claim at a time, even if multiples have been submitted. 4. In one of my claims, they sent the file request to an emergency hospital instead of my normal vet where the service occurred. When I called to find out the reason for this, they said all files need to be accessible in order to process the claim. We had gone once to this emergency hospital and it was for foreign object treatment. There’s no more notes from this hospital. Also, we submitted this claim so you already have the notes. A serious case of the left hand does not talk to the right. 6. I’m still waiting refund for the one illness infection my puppy have because they are still “reviewing” my case. They said it’s only the first illness that will take a while - approximately 30 business days, however I’m still awaiting that first and only illness refunds. Overall, they are just okay in my book. I wish I would have made more research in Nextdoor for real feedback instead of potentially biased websites recommendations. Trupanion seems to be better at handling their cases as well as coverage. A little more expensive but worth it!
