Paid $50 a month premium for 6 months. Filed three claims for my dog. One of the three claims was for him getting neutered. All claims denied as pre-existing conditions. USAA stop doing business with these people...

Filing a claim

The people I talked to were nice … however, it took three times for them to download the information they needed to make a decision. They were not downloading the PDF attached to the email sent to them. They only looked at the email. It was frustrating. Once they did download the PDF, everything g went well after it.

Super Efficient and Very Easy!

What made this experience so great is that it was so easy. I've never been a fan of forms, but the form I submitted was very simple to understand. Reimbursement was fast and efficient. Embrace professionals handled any missing information by directly contacting the veterinarians.

I’ve heard people complain that pet…

I’ve heard people complain that pet insurance doesn’t reimburse them, but I had a smooth claims reimbursement experience. I read the fine print when signing up, and my contract was followed perfectly. Hoping I won’t need to submit another claim with them, but if I do, I know I’m in good hands.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
