Nice sweet people that answer the phone. My one gripe is when I started with them 10+ years ago I purchased wellness insurance that covered check ups a few year’s latter they stoped the coverage told me it was a Rhode Island state issue and Rhode Island insurance commissioner issue never got a good explanation. Besides that I love them and recommend them to everyone I talk to.

Illogical coverage decisions, poor communication.

Have had four cats covered for over two years and submitted our first claim when one needed multiple dental extractions for resorptive lesions. The app states first claims may take up to 30 days. After over six weeks with no further communication, I sent a message asking for an update, and received a denial of the claim first thing the next business day. The denial was based on the cat having mild tarter buildup noted in his first exam, prior to purchasing coverage, and therefore ANY periodontal disease was considered a pre-existing condition. Tarter buildup is not a precursor to resorptive lesions; this is about as logical as saying a stubbed toe excludes a broken one years later. Our veterinarian called on our behalf to fight the denial and no change was made. We made the switch to Embrace after hearing some concerning stories regarding our previous provider, and now feel stuck as the cats are older and would be carrying more “pre-existing conditions” into a new provider. Extremely disappointed with response time, communication and coverage.

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!

This insurance makes it sound like they cover all kinds of things. It is not until AFTER you pay them and go to use the insurance and then submit a claim, do they go back to your pets Vet and ask to see records of any pre-existing conditions. Then they deny your claim and tell you no pre-existing conditions are covered. They should review your pet's pre-existing conditions BEFORE they begin coverage and it should be detailed in writing BEFORE they approve you, what they will not cover. A waste of money!

Still waiting on payment

Still waiting on payment. Reading other reviews concerns me, not sure if we'll recover any of our expenses. Our dog ate a cold medicine pill containing acetaminophen. That is recognized as an emergency, so much so we were forced to call pet poison health line prior to the emergency vet seeing us. So $2310.00 later, we are still waiting for a decision. ***will edit review if the situation changes .
