Excessive inquiries and delayed processing times…

Lengthy time for claims to be processed and excessive inquiries to vet clinics not related to the accident. Including a quote for services rendered to an unrelated vet. It was very stressful having Embrace ask other vets what they would charge for the emergency dental work. I found that to be a waste of my time, the vet clinic’s time, and waste of Embrace time/resources getting a quote that was not necessary to reimburse for the vet used for dental work.

Wellness rewards have saved me on…

Wellness rewards have saved me on numerous occasions. Other insurance has a limit per vet visit but with embrace I can take my dog to the vet weekly and have it covered. However because they are the reimbursement type of insurance you do have to meet their limit when it comes to accidentals or illnesses before getting reimbursed. Because of my dog he meets those limits easily but if your dog is young and healthy you should consider what you pay for

Solid coverage

Solid coverage, prompt processing. I have 2 cats and a dog, and have had positive experience. Only minor complaint is online functionality, of "find my provider" is glitchy on Mac, Safari.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
