I adopted a dog 1 year ago and decided…

I adopted a dog 1 year ago and decided to get insurance at the recommendation of my vet. The catch to aspca is that they reimburse UP TO 90%… I pay extremely high monthly and never have I been reimbursed for any vet costs outside of the appointed annual vaccines ($50-100). Filing claims through the app took weeks and sometimes months, and required me to send full records every time in addition to the invoice of work done. Be prepared to wait a very long time for review and payout. My coverage included preventative maintenance like behavioral health— I followed guidelines and got a dog trainer, and received 0 reimbursement. My coverage also included 24/7 access to vets over telehealth for questions or basic advice… I never once got through to an actual person. It was always a robot and never connected me to anyone to assist me, or told me it was outside of business hours. When I’ve tried calling to talk to someone about my coverage I could never connect to a person either. Overall I’m very disappointed with this service and am not renewing. Hardly no return but outrageous monthly charges. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Switching to USAA.

ASPCS pet insurance is a horrible rip off. Save yourself the grief!!

One star rating only so that I can provide a review. They deserve a NEGATIVE RATING. ASPCA medical insurance is a joke, they take your money on a monthly basis for an insurance premium, and pay no claims. They are a FRAUD!!! My only hope is that the money I have paid to ASPCA for medical insurance for both my dogs, is not lining the pockets of the executives, but truly going to help animals. I doubt it as ASPCA medical insurance is a scam. I sent in a claim with medical documents for my dog when he collapsed and was denied, for " Pre-existing condition" which is untrue as my dog has never collapsed before, and he was undiagnosed as the vet could not figure out the cause, and speculated heat stroke, or seizure but undiagnosed. I appealed and the denial and ASPCA claimed non receipt for the appeal, resent at the request of support again, heard noting at all. I've sent in other claims for medical visits and they too were denied stating "Pre existing condition". Such a scam... I'm canceling this insurance to stop this company from extorting money calling it medical insurance. Please do your homework before signing up for insurance with this company. Don't give them a dime for medical insurance, try other companies, please save your money, don't pay it to ASPCA. You will get nothing in return.

It's a rip off

It's a rip off. Don't do it. They denied a claim on my dog and was stuck with big bill after paying them over 100 a month!

Good Luck with getting medical recognized!

I have taken over the policy on a female dog that we got back as they went with ASPCA instead of the company we recommend when puppies go home. In 40 years of breeding we have never had insurance on a dog of ours. So this is a new experience for me. I assisted the prior family in getting the medical they needed to get the deduction properly credited. It seems there are different levels of phone help on the denial letter. We got a letter that said the claim was denied as there is not a policy in effect! The website is easy to work through but the denials are insane. They say they don't have medical always first comment. Then when the vet has emailed the medical 4 times! So I started to get a copy of the medical and send it myself. They want the SOAP notes. Not the notes that come in with the bill for the visit. They have 2 stars only for the deductible credits FINALLY being recognized after 3 calls and many hours of my time. Now since I have submitted more bills for the conditions they have paid for before I am waiting to see what happens when they have to send out money to us. So far they are super with the auto pays coming out to them.

I have been a loyal customer of ASPCA…

I have been with ASPCA Pet Insurance for 15 years, initially drawn to what I believed was a reputable company. This belief was put to the test and found lacking. My experience has shown that while everything may seem fine when your dog is healthy, the true test of an insurance comes when you face a crisis. Last year, my healthy dog was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away within 14 days. Despite this painful loss, I decided to give ASPCA another chance with our new dog. Regrettably, just two months later, my new dog developed hyperparathyroidism. When I submitted the insurance claim, it was swiftly denied due to being considered a 'pre-existing condition'. It has become evident that ASPCA will find any loophole to deny claims, effectively making their coverage only beneficial if your pet remains healthy. It appears that ASPCA is more interested in collecting premiums than in providing the support and coverage that pets and their owners need. I am deeply disappointed and feel misled by a company that I thought was the best in the field. I advise potential customers to consider other options, as this company might let you down when you most need them.

Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded.
