New Injury Denied as Pre Existing

Started our policy over 2 years ago for our dog who had knee surgery done on her back L knee while back right knee was fine with no injuries. A week ago she needed knee surgery on the good knee but since she had one on the other 2+ years ago they said that it is bilateral and therefor also not covered even tho she tore that knee 2 months ago well into our policy that we’ve been paying monthly for. They did approve the x-ray when she tore her knee and the meds but the surgery to fix the knee they declined that bill. Customer service just repeated the same scripted info and were of no help to explain how this makes sense. Cancelling the policy because of this. Very scam feeling with this with what they approve and deny. Approve the small but find ways to decline the big bills

Horrible experience with my claims

I started with this insurance June 2025. I've submitted two claims, nothing has been covered and I provided ASPCA with copies of all the history of my dog from the last 2 years at their request. I submitted dog history from the vet twice; October and again in November. They indicated on my login tonight I didn't povide the proper documenrtation. It's been 3 months and I've heard nothing. No email, nothing. I do n ot recommend this pet insurance; my last insurance covered within 2 weeks, were great with response. Unfortunately, they are not supporting my state any longer. I was forced to find new pet insurance and after research chose ASPCA. They have terrible response time, no calling, no email within a reasonable time period.

Easy Claim Experience

I've had ASPCA Pet Insurance for multiple pets for over 7 years. Fortunately I only recently had to file a claim after one of my fur babies got seriously ill very suddenly, and ended up passing. Not only did they pay my claim quickly with very little questioning, but they offered condolences and cancelled his coverage without my having to ask. I appreciated the fact that they made the process as easy as possible during such a difficult time.
