I am very disappointed

I am very disappointed. I have been a client (with multiple pets) since 2007 and ASPCA Pet Insurance has been going downhill over the last 5 years. They cannot blame the pandemic, because customer service has been declining for longer than that. They recently changed the website one more time and now hardly ever works, overall the site is buggy. Now, the claim submission form is super long and takes double the time with all the clicks and odd navigation, and when you finally reach the end of it, the site acts up and you cannot submit it and it loses the info. When we call, the new phone tree is torture if you are lucky to survive, you still need to wait at least 15 min to talk to someone. The reimbursement levels have been declining gradually and they got to a point that is hard to cover any expense, it is unrealistic.

ASPCA came out with a new option to…

ASPCA came out with a new option to upload an estimate for claims in the app. My dog Cloud was going to get neutered and I sent them the estimate through the ASPCA app on April 19th it took them FOREVER per usual to even approve the claim because they kept asking for unnecessary information like his medical records from a hospital that’s no longer in business! Anyways they “COMPLETED” the claim supposedly sent me $708 and some change on May 9th it is now May 17th and I never received the money in my bank account. I call ASPCA to only be told “we just tell you how much of the estimate we can cover we really don’t send you a direct deposit until the service is done” WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING INSURANCE THEN!?! Definitely canceling my plan and letting my hospital know to tell all the patients to not sign up their pets with ASPCA insurance!

Very frustrating.Had a follow up visit with the Vet and there is no where to add this to my claim as far as I can tell. Also, no phone, text , chat or anyway to get ahold of these people.

Claims paid for multiple pets

I have two dogs insured with ASPCA. We had the misfortune of having multiple claims for both of them this year. These claims were thankfully processed and reimbursement paid quickly and efficiently

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option.

No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered.

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment.

If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee.

Accident-Only coverage available.

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance®, provided by Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group through its licensed agency, C&F Insurance Agency, Inc., is committed to improving animal care across the U.S. by making veterinary care more affordable for pet parents. Their Complete Coverage(SM) plan covers accidents, injuries, illnesses and more, and features simplified reimbursement based on percentage of invoice.  Preventive Care is available at an additional cost.
