Awesome insurance

ASPCA pet insurance is really wonderful. I am posting this because I previously posted a terrible review. The insurance took 3 months to reimburse me due to 'insufficient information from vet'. At the time I was broke and it seemed like the reimbursement would not come around. However, it eventually did and I am so grateful! My cat recovered from diabetic ketoacidosis and is now under control. It is very likely that now that he has a pre-existing condition, he will not qualify for further reimbursement. However, I have kept paying $30 in order to 'pass on' some cash to someone else. I highly recommend aspca - they raise a ton of money for all kinds of animals. I'm not sure if the insurance is related to aspca but I also recommend looking into saving one of the animals from the shelters. They are GREAT pets and having a pet makes you happier.

Their exclusions are stupid

Their exclusions are extremely worrisome because according to many veterinarians, the diseases they list as hereditary has never been proved to be hereditary. Read your policies!

The best pet insurance!

ASPCA is definitely the best pet insurance. My little kitten had some digestion issues, and aspca is able to cover 90% of my bills. I also recommended this to my friend, and she switched from Trupanion to aspca last week. The only thing that made me take 1 pt off is that when I first got this insurance, it took aspca a month to process my claims... But after the first couple of claims, the later one is much faster.

I have only had routine visits but good to know that in the event of a problem she is covered with insurance.

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
