How to Save Money at Vanguard Veterinary Clinic Redland
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Even though if it’s very hot, and humid. The team was in good spirits, received us with the smile, not only me, but other people that came after me. They were very kind to my puppy and gave me lots of positive feedback. It was our first small outing. My puppy 3 1/2 months old. It was easy to check in, they helped me with the paperwork as I was on crutches. Not only that, but it was very 𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚘𝚖𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕. I wish I had that in my state, and in my community

Me and my husband had to make a Hard decision to put our Pet Zia down due to lymphoma, unfortunately my experience was very weird as hard as it already was (some people don’t like to be bothered as genuinely as you could be) it does not matter anymore but I just wanted to address that the Nurse Kim passed the line by clearly there was 2 people in the room (my husband and me) she only directed to him in every single question even when it was not even about the process we were about to do she kept on getting too close to my husband which I wasn’t concerned but more felt like she did not consider the fact that I was already having a hard time letting go of my pet . When we ended the process of saying goodbye to my Dog then we leaving the clinic she says to my husband please let me know if you need anything else again Only direct to him that is way unconsidered and disrespectful as I am invisible. I am not mad but I come to the surprise where they sent a card to my address and obviously she had to write in the card sending you a Hug . And everything was always in a singular way when I am also in the picture. Just very unprofessional, would’ve been nice if we both would’ve been treated the same way .She clearly did it on purpose because I told her to leave my Dog alone when she was leaving the world I wanted to hug her not another person hugging my Dog . There’s boundaries and she should have respected that . I only felt like I was invisible not that I care but if you’re going to say something say it to both people in the room . Even in the card again she only wrote to my husband.

If you are looking for a vet that cares, look no further. The examination rooms smell good, because it is constantly being deodorized. Friendly receptionists. Caring doctors and vet assistants. I live 30 minutes away from this facility, but I don't mind taking the drive because of their excellence. Highly recommended, I don't like doing reviews, but I made an exception for them.

Love the staff and Vetinarian is awesome as well. Prices are fair and care is great. These are all of our animals that they have taken care of and have assisted in helping some to cross the rainbow bridge. Some of our babies have extensive health issues and they have always been able to direct us in how to care for them correctly and all have had the best care possible.

Dr. Lopez and staff were wonderful. We’ve used many different vets over the past 65 years and have not experienced a more patient, professional, and caring vet and staff. Dr Lopez spends the time to fully explain her diagnosis and planned course of treatment. My expectations are high for a vet treating my pets and Dr Lopez exceeded my expectations.
