How to Save Money at Boerne Stage Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Fantastic care. We have a 12 year old Heinze 57 45 lb. dog. She has a urinary issue. A tumor that almost fills her bladder. She has been seen there several times. Medicated, studied and followed. She is doing fantastic. Gaining weight and happy, happy, happy. We are tentativly happy and hopeful. We are aware these happy times may be short lived b we cause of the medication she was prescribed. That was abundantly made aware to us ftom the first visit. We are just enjoying the days that our 12 year old baby is feeling great. We were given reasonable expectations on the first visit and were told that ultimatly the cancer would win. It is like HOSPICE for pets having been given ALL of the probables. We are thankful for each day that our baby remains pain free and realized there are difficult decisions to be made as we move forward knowing what we were told. The cancer WILL win. The kindness and care our baby has received plus knowing what to expect means everything. Our baby will not suffer. They insured us that they would support us through the entire process. We are grateful.

I’ve been coming here for years, thought I left a review a while ago. Took our elderly dog in today though and saw Dr Clint and I just had to gush about the patience and level of care they all expressed. Everyone from the vets to Luca and the ladies at the front. Seen every vet in the practice at one point or another (Dr Sanchez I think her name is, mostly), wish humans got as good of treatment from our doctors as they give our dogs and cats lol…. If anyone wants a personal recommendation just contact me on here and I’m happy to tell you myself how awesome they are.

Our 3yo poodle had a swollen eye that happened suddenly over a few hours and she looked tired/uncomfortable so I called late in the afternoon. I tried calling some other nearby vet offices and was met with automated responses that asked me to push numbers to get connected and then the call would drop. Luckily, an actual person picked up when I called this office. She was very nice and asked the appropriate questions about what was going on, other symptoms etc. Even though it was getting late, she asked to put me on hold to confer with the doctor. She got back on the phone and told me that the doctor would be willing to see us. Once we showed up, the check-in process was very easy. The technician called us back and asked us more questions pertaining to her chief complaint. Shortly after that, the doctor examined our dogs eye and stained it to check for ulcers and abrasions. They then prescribed eye drops. It is now a few days later and our dog is doing much better. In summary, we were very happy with the process from our first phone call to our follow up. Call a few days after our visit. The entire staff seems very dedicated and also very empathetic. We would definitely come here for care in the future. Thank you.

Go figure - my dog is special, he loves going to the Vet. I'm sure it has to do with the kindness of the staff. Day after his visit from the vet. I highly recommend Boerne Stage Veterinary Clinic for your pets needs.
