How to Save Money at Angel Veterinary Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Brought my dog for my first time and the staff had let me know that I had brought a dog last year but I never have. They put the bill under my name even though it’s not mine. Now it’s a fraudulent account under my credit. Why don’t you check IDs. I work in a jewelry store and I know how important it is to verify the client. Also how did they pull my credit to know where I worked 5 years ago and try to tell me I worked there last year

DO NOT GO HERE! We lost our precious babyboy recently and went in to get his ashes. They stole money from us! And I was so distraught I wasn't even paying attention! I counted my money multiple times before going in and giving it to them and didn't notice I was supposed to get money back until leaving. (Had to return) they lied about how much money I gave them and wouldn't give us any money back unless we showed how much we gave them (which they gave us no receipt for how much we gave them so that wasn't possible) they steal money from grieving people and tried to make me feel stupid like I don't know how to count. So I got money stolen from me along with losing my baby boy and I am very disappointed. Will never be returning! They are very greedy and rude. Disgusting people

I have used Angels for years as needed but pretty upset with this visit. I got my dog neutered little over a week ago. In couple days he came down with Kennel cough and gave it to my older dog. I called vet said to come by and pick up medicine cost $70.00 and then found out they had not vaccinated him at time of surgery which they were supposed to. There was no record that they did. Had told at least 2 workers and filled out paperwork stating to vaccinate too along with surgery and blood work. Was not given an itemized bill or blood work results. Maybe just too busy but I consider it incompetence and expensive.

Ended up coming here as a last resort. NOBODY in Midland would take our cat in and have him checked the only thing Midland Vets did tell me is that he needed his bladder drained asap but no one would do it. So after calling around to literally EVERY vet in Midland I decided to give Odessa a try and they urged me to take him up there asap. Sadly it was too late, for some reason it would not drain and his bladder would eventually burst so we had to make the horrible decision to put him to sleep. And they were super nice and caring it even looked like the vet wanted to cry with my kids and I. Thank you Angel Vet staff for everything you did to help our baby boy. It's a 45 minute drive for us from Midland there butbits so worth it, they will actually take care of your animals and be very nice about it without making you feel worse than you already do. R.I.P. BUTTERS WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU!
