How to Save Money at Veterinarians Dental
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I had lousy luck wiith most veterinarian choices over my dogs lifetime. By adult stage I left annual vsits frustrated knowing something was still wrong but was going undiagnosed, despite the clean test results. Each new provider would give a blank stare, or offer for a wider blood panel screen, ending with the,"Did you want to get the heartworm preventative today?". Years later the question if mold may cause any symptoms was also dismissed. Yet why within a 6 month span my quick and athletic Silky terrier had went nearly blind from cataracts AND almost deaf? She was starting to stumble and nearly faint if we played ball as usual. She would sit, turned away from me, shaking almost like subtle neurological type seizures. She stopped drinking water. I too was having brain fog WAY beyond normal, minor skin issues and other ailments. I KNOW mold did cause some of our symptoms but no doctor or veterinarian would go there. Even though my girl made it 18 years I still experience feelings of regret and sadness wishing I could have found help to prevent ALL the suffering she hid so well. During COVID 2020 I took my dog to 3 vets, which req. we had to stay in our car, then a vet tech would bring out paperwork to compete...wait for turn, then come get my dog for the appt while I had to wait in the car...in HOT mid July/August days. (Rediculous policy to exclude the human from the pet's visit!) My 16 year old dog was stressed, then overheated and grew feverish. I suspected her teeth may be part of the problem but now the clinic who examined her wouldn't do a teeth cleaning due to fever at her age. Exhausting! Searching for a remedy luck smiled and I found THIS clinic. They worked with me to have my girl's blood drawn, screened to confirm health/tolerance, an antibiotics Rx, then scheduled surgery for multiple extractions. Hope was restored! As others have said in the comments here, I finallly found compassionate care, at reasonable prices, offering choice from a variety of pain med flavors (salmon pease), an aftercare sheet, and a follow up call...all wrapped up in a dated building run by friendly people who welcomed us inside rather than require I wait outside in the car. No nonsense, just specialized treatment delivered thru a well oiled machine in which each professional performs their tasks well, daily, and on repeat yet fail to make you feel like just a number. Without hesitation, even 5 years later, I highly recommend! And offer thanks and praise.

Took my Doberman puppy to have his ears cropped with Dr. Schaffer, and they are looking great. Just wanted to give a huge thanks to Dr. Schaffer and staff for an amazing job.

I would avoid this practice at all costs. A veterinarian told me that there were several professional complaints against Veterinarians Dental (that veterinarians can see but the general public cannot). My pup passed away less than two months after going to Veterinarians Dental. Instead of guesses, I will stick with facts. 1. They diagnosed my dog with CUPS. I was later told by a veterinarian that CUPS is an outdated diagnosis. 2. The medication prescribed to my dog did not list the actual medications. I was told by veterinarians, This Is Illegal. 3. Only when my dog went to emergency care did I ask what was in the medication, and Jim told me what medications (not dosage). There was a delay in his response, which did impact the care my pet received. 4. One of the medications in the syrup is not a medicine used currently by practicing vets. 5. Veterinarians Dental checked my dog’s blood work at her follow up, but none of her health information was shared with me. 6. Jim bought the practice when the practice founder passed away. Jim claimed to be a PhD to me. Jim is not a DVM. I saw nothing in the office confirming PhD credentials. 7. Veterinarians Dental does not have a website. Paper trails are difficult to come by.

This vet dental clinic is located in a cute retro building in the middle of modern buildings. The staff were super professional, caring and friendly. They videotaped the entire surgery and called us throughout the surgery to keep us updated. Our 7 year old 4lb Yorker is recovering well after extractions and cleaning. The staff continue to follow-up with us during our dogs recovery. We highly recommended this vet dentist.
