How to Save Money at Ambassador Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Amazing experience! Beautiful and clean building. The entire staff here is compassionate and will love your pet as much as you do. My girlie had her first appointment since I adopted her, and they explained everything, answered all my questions, made my kitten feel comfortable, and we were in and out quickly! Finally, I gave Dr. Alfieris a call the next day after seeing some symptoms she warned me about. They were able to immediately prescribe a medicine and the kitty was treated same day! Thank you so much for everything :)

Took really good care of My babies for years now and when we almost lost our little pup Esme they went above and beyond getting her the help she needed including calling in another doctor so they could have her doctor give her the emergency surgery she needed immediately because it was more affordable than the hospital witch would have cost us triple for the same surgery and we just could not have afforded it. So thanks to their wonder Dr. and her compassionate nature and getting the other doctor in and doing her surgery our baby is home with us and better and healthier than before. We trust them completely with our babies and no one else. Here is our baby right before , then right after and then just a week later going to be groomed.

Highly recommend this practice for your fur babies. It is extremely clean, the staff is very friendly, and the appointment for a wellness exam for my two cats went so smoothly! I was in and out within an hour. Even with me arriving early I was taken back almost immediately. They really cater to the needs of their patients. My cats were both so nervous, my boy cat’s heart rate was really high. They quickly got my babies towels with Feliway to help calm them down. It was truly that little gesture that meant the most to me. I will continue to bring my cats here with peace of mind knowing that they will be very well taken care of.

I have never met such a fantastic veterinary team all round, and I feel genuinely blessed and privileged to have become a delighted new client with my (young and not-so-easy) 91lbs mud-loving Mountain Cur x Pittie mix! We had our first visit with the Ambassador Animal Hospital Team yesterday (Feb 05, 2024) and I couldn't have wished for a better experience. From the very beginning (the booking process on the phone with Ashleigh and Jasmin), through to arriving at Reception for our appointment and being helped by Desiree, our incredible vet tech, to meeting Dr Alfieris so she could do a full wellness check and x-rays on Oreo: → You don't get better! All the staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. I never once felt "rushed" or pressurized, and it was an extensive, full service check on a strong, boisterous pupper. I got the best advice for long-term care and holistic wellness, and I was made to feel genuinely welcomed and supported throughout every touch point: from getting Oreo weighed right to the end when he was given a bowl of water after the x-rays. I am an Ambassador AH fan for the long-term, for sure. I have no doubts whatsoever that my beloved canine companion is in the best hands possible for his lifelong mental and physical wellbeing, and also for the stringent (rather tedious) international travel requirements that's on the horizon for this special kiddo. The first photo is of a genuinely happy dog sunning himself on our deck the day after his extensive appointment... Needless to say, he's receiving the perfect meds and probiotics as were provided to us by a world-class yet kind, friendly and welcoming veterinarian, Dr Alfieris. If you're looking for a new veterinary team for your furry friends, and if you want true peace of mind as a pet parent: → Ambassador Animal Hospital is *the* place!

This is a wonderful place to bring my pups. I have been happy with each visit. All the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. On my third visit they greeted me by name. The doctors do not rush you and explain what is going on very well.
