How to Save Money at All Creatures Great and Small Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I wish I would have found this vet office sooner when I moved to five forks. I have 4 dogs and a cat. At this vet office they are just extraordinary. Gentle and intelligent. Feel like I’ve seen everyone on the team and every vet. I’ve never had a questionable experience. I think the front office staff are the most well trained I’ve ever seen in the profession And I’m quite the seasoned animal owner. They will get your dogs taken care of at the most reasonable cost in the upstate. Their availability for scheduling is phenomenal. They are upfront and transparent. I get my 12 year old Rottweilers nails trimmed here for $20 and 3 other locations in five forks were going to charge me $500 because of her size and breed.

Probably have had close to 15 appts with this establishment with my four dogs. The vets are patient and highly knowledgeable. They actually listen to the pet owner and are not dismissive. The front office staff are a dream with scheduling and check out. Never been waiting in a room forever for a doctor to come check. The prices are reasonable and if you tell them you can't pay a certain amount they will do everything in their power to make sure your dog gets great care at that price. If it weren't for Dr. Middleton, my dog would have passed away twice from infectious diseases he's contracted at Astro kennel for daycare. The vet office is very very clean. You won't regret choosing them as your first stop for your animals.

Dr. Martin and the staff are awesome. I was going to another vet and I was just a number and they never made an effort to get to know me or my dog. I switched to Dr. Martin and I am so glad I did. He takes as much time as needed to figure out what the issue is, is very good about explaining care and treatment. The staff is very kind and friendly. My dog is a bit nervous when at the vet but everyone works with her and treats her like their own. They also let me be with her when they are examining her which I really appreciate. My dog also had to have surgery and it was not a standard issue and Dr. Martin did an outstanding job. Highly recommend. Having the resource of Dr. Martin and the staff takes away any anxiety because I know if something happens he will figure it out and take the best care possible of my dog.

Has the most wonderful, caring staff that I’ve ever met. They love our pets as much as if they are their own. They took the greatest care of my dog, Gracie during her last days. She was almost 17 years old. I would give more details of the care they gave her, but I don’t want to start crying again. I highly recommend Dr. Middleton and the entire staff at All Creatures Great and Small. I wouldn’t take my pets to any other vet in town. ❤️

I cannot say enough nice, wonderful things about everyone at this office. My 14-year-old dog has been to a lot of vets in her lifetime and never have I felt so comforted by not only the doctor, but the whole staff. Unquestionably, they love animals just as much as I do and only want what's best for them. I've been to places where they suggest testing and treatment obviously just to make a buck and not once have I ever felt that way about All Creatures. In fact, they seem consistently conscious of the best way to be frugal while also providing the treatment/testing needed for your baby. Dr. Alan always takes the time to walk through all of the results, explaining them to make sure I understand and answering all my endless questions with patience. I will take all of my animals here forever.
