How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Viking Community Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Viking and Dr Gamber are WONDERFUL! They remember all of the details of our fur babies and truly care for and love them. They are quick to schedule an appointment and there is hardly ever a wait once you arrive which is really important.

First, the positive: Dr. Gamber is a great vet. We took our pets to her office for many years and received excellent medical care. However, two big drawbacks to this office are their hours and small staff. They only have one doctor, so when she is out of the office and your pet needs to be seen, you’re out of luck; get ready for a trip to the ER and a big bill. Viking is also not open on Fridays (or weekends), and they close at 4:00 on Thursdays. As our pets got older, we stopped going to Viking because we needed a vet’s office with more availability. If your pet is young and doesn’t have major health issues, Viking might be fine for you. However, if you have older pets/pets with health issues who need regular veterinary care, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this office.

Viking Vet is amazing. Dr Gamber and the whole staff had taken care of my Max for 14yrs. And now our newest addition Apollo.

Highly recommended this place. They have provided years of excellent care for all of our dogs. Our great Dane, Bailey Smalls, was a little scared during her first appointment so doc brought her mini terrier Piper in to play with Bailey and help her relax. Pro level move by an experienced and loving vet. Bailey actually likes going back to visit her new friend. Dr Gambar also fixed our Neopolitan Mastiff s drool problem by reshaping her jowls.
