How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Jefferson Veterinary Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr. Bryce and his entire staff at Jefferson Veterinary are awesome! Whether they are taking your phone call or helping you in person , they are kind, patient and treat our animals as if they were their own. Dr Bryce is fantastic, we can’t say enough great things about him. He is a very responsible vet, the animals he cares for are always his number one priority. Dr Bryce is honest, straightforward and never tries to upsell additional treatments (like other vet practices have done to us ) . We always leave the office feeling like our pets have been treated by the best and most professional veterinary practice in Upstate NY.

We recently had a situation where our 13 year old cat had an elevated white cell count, despite her not having ever been exposed to any other cats. No chance of her being exposed to feline leukemia. Regardless, Dr. Bryce gave us all he could. Our sweet girl succumbed a couple weeks later. No idea what happened to her but we’re told 13 years was a good age for an elderly cat. It’s so heartbreaking after having three cats that made it past 18 years but you just don’t know how long they can last, I guess. Kudos to the team at Jefferson Veterinary for doing all they could for our beloved kitty.

I have been going to this vet for almost 20 years. I can not imagine bringing my fur family to anyone else. The staff is always friendly and caring, and there’s no one like Dr. Bryce. They are wonderful.

She loves them and Dr. Brice is great with her. They are very fair with their prices. Willing to work with you. I have been going to them for 10 years and would NEVER go to anyone else. They are part of my family. Through the good times and bad, they are right by your side. They really care. Thank you we love you.
