How to Save Money at Forever Vets Animal Hospital in Bartram Market

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This place is amazing. They are not just my vet care. They are my family.!!! They have amazing staff. I can’t name all of them, but shout out to Sydney, Alex, Lee , Samantha , Danni, all the other techs / front desk workers. Of course, all the Vets, but specifically Doctor MacGregor !!! They have been there with me and my kittens since they were 3 to 5 weeks old and I couldn’t think of anyone else that I would want to take care of them. When we had to put Mosley down after doing everything we could do to save her; it would have been harder with out them. They made it feel like Mosley was their family too and not only sent flowers but danni wrote me a beautiful poem. Another tech wanted to have been called in to say goodbye … they love my babies as much as me. In a world that is loosing personal touch this place is far from that ! They care so much and go above & beyond.

10/10 experience here!!! My 10 month old golden doodle had an intestinal blockage from a foreign object and was declining fast. I took him to another ER vet who charged me $1k just for testing and said the treatment would be $8-10k, absolutely insane prices. Here at forever vets I got the same tests and treatment for less than HALF of that!!! They squeezed us in and made time for my pup surgery the same day when they initially had no availability. His care was absolutely top tier and highly thoughtful. Samantha helped us with the process and was SO helpful, sweet and caring, and Christian was the doctor who explained everything so clearly, communicated so well and completed the surgery successfully. They are committed to GREAT care while also trying to keep costs manageable!! I’ve received many updates from the team while my pup was there and his health and comfort was top priority for them and he’s now making a great recovery. I couldn’t recommend this vet enough!!!

Dr. MacGregor, Liz, and Jasmine are incredible and take such good care of my three cats! They are so personable, knowledgeable, and kind. I feel like I’m visiting friends when I go in! I also love the yearly wellness plans they offer for our fur babies- they the make recommended routine care way more affordable. Love this place!

I am so happy with my experience here! I can't put into words how grateful I am to the staff for helping us out when we really needed them. On Thursday night of last week my boyfriend found a kitten in the wood line behind his apartment building, so we took her to the vet as soon as possible on Friday to see if she was microchipped. Syd was our vet tech and was so knowledgeable in the information shared with us and explained it in a way that helped us understand why things worked in cats the way that they did. Now unfortunately my dog, Raptor, had a pretty bad accident while playing at a dog park a few days later, so I rushed him to the nearest emergency vet; that being the forever vets in Bartram market, as our usual vet was a little bit farther and didn't take emergencies. Immediately when they saw the state of Raptor, they took him back and started caring for him. Dr. Briley welcomed us in with open arms and repeatedly assured me he was doing well and kept me updated as she was examining him. I am so unbelievably grateful for the entire team who not only cared for Raptor, but also me as a very concerned dog mom.

Maters Visit with Kayla Briley: Our Dog Mater is about 85 lbs and was an adoption from a rescue shelter. We struggled to find a vet that would care for him and be able to provide some of the routine care he needed. Other vet offices labeled him as aggressive which made it difficult to keep up with the care he needed for his over grown nails and over all health. The office and the staff there has been so kind and patient with Mater. He had the works done and spent a full day with them and got a lot done after not being in care for a while!! He did great! He is still nervous after his 4th time there but they have gone out of their way to keep each visit positive. We loved it so much we did the membership and he now has and office that really does care about his comfort and shows him so much patience! It’s is so appreciated. Also, Maters pet tech Liz at Forever Vets has been there for most of Maters visits. She is just so sweet to him and helpful!! Thank you Liz!! I can tell you really love your job and care about the furry clientele you look after!!
