How to Save Money at Forever Vets Animal Hospital at Bartram Market

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

The staff continues to show our boy Bentley love and care! He was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Although, he’s not enjoying our multiple car rides to the vet; he did develop an instant connection with his new best friend Shelby! Bentley absolutely loves her! I absolutely love Bentley’s doctor, Christopher Payne. In addition, thank you to the staff that takes care of Bentley from behind the scenes!! We appreciate each and everyone of you. Thank you, Kim and Dave Showalter😊

This is the only place I will bring my pup! Maverick came in for his puppy shots and reception was very caring and kind. I requested Kristina and they brought her right in. Kristina and Piero had great bedside manner and explained which plan would be best for me. Maverick got wonderful care and can’t wait to come back for the rest of his shots on his wellness plan! Thank you so much Kristina and ForeverVets! There is no one better ❤️

I started bringing my dog here at the beginning of the year. This is the third veterinary hospital I’ve been to since moving here seven years ago. I stopped going to one because I could never get an appointment when my dog was sick. I could get an appointment at the second one but found the vet was too quick to determine the problem and was very quick to rush away after doing so. This vet’s office has great availability for appointments and the vets take their time with my dog and my questions. Dr. Cummings and Dr. Payne have both been wonderful and will ask, “ Anything else?” and they mean it. The vet techs ( Miles, Piero, Katrina) are so personable and obviously love animals. I’m happier but most importantly my dog gets great care as they take their time to show me how to clean his eyes, apply ointment, and care for his feet. Every visit has been five star for sure!

HORRIFIC experience I trusted this place to take care of my Best Friend. If there was less than one star that would be more realistic. Sad. I’m sorry Latte I should not have kept bringing you back in believing they were giving you the Care you needed. They failed us. Miss my best friend. When I told my friends about my heartbreak and experience, unfortunately, they had similar stories from some of the other Forever Vet locations. SAD. As I update this post. I pray that they have made changes so they can provide the utmost care to customers who mistakenly trust them with their babies. I hope that now they have the ability to read X-rays on site instead of having to send the pictures out to have them read because the doctors there could not read X-rays. That was part of your demise that it took several days to get the results back to them even though I called several times each day to see if the X-rays had been read. I even brought you back during those few days because you were getting worse not better then days later you were gone. Praying my heart will heal. 🥲

I took my cat in because he was urinating blood and he stopped using his litter box most of the time. After running some tests, FV informed me he had a bladder infection. After a few weeks of following their instruction, my baby is back to his healthy and happy self and is back to using his litter box. Thank you FV🙏🏾
