How to Save Money at Kindness Animal Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I was skeptical due to all the negative reviews, but I was very pleased with my visit. Everyone was very pleasant and Dr. Nancy was a straight shooter and I love that no games being played. She was patient with me and answered all my questions. have found a new veterinarian I was looking high and low for affordable care and I am so grateful for Dr. Nancy.

If I could give less than 1 star - I would! Initially, my experience at this veterinary clinic was positive. The team was friendly and the young lady who administered the shot to my dog was delightful. However, upon my return, my encounter with Roxana, one of the veterinarians, completely changed my opinion. Her demeanor was incredibly rude when addressing both me and my partner. What's worse, when it came time to administer the vaccines, she handled my dog roughly and showed a complete lack of kindness. As a responsible pet owner, I understand that holding my dog during vaccinations is necessary, and it's not my first time doing so. However, Roxana's approach was far from gentle or considerate. Her behavior left me deeply disappointed and frustrated, and as a result, I will never bring my dog back to this establishment. I believe it is crucial for veterinary professionals to exhibit compassion and empathy towards both animals and their owners. Unfortunately, Roxana failed to meet these basic expectations, and it has greatly impacted my perception of this clinic.

I only gave it 2 because I've been coming here for awhile and thought none of my pets have had any severe problems so she seemed to know what she was doing. My dog now has lost his ability to walk on his hind legs. Happened rather quick. I go in she barely looks at him, gets x-rays, ( which a computer reads, cause they are too busy) and then sends me to a other doctor to look at them. That wasn't even the correct doctor to see. I went to a different vet today. He gave him a blood test, meds, and started Lazer therapy. Now with Nancy I felt like I just got pushed out of the way. Not saying she doesn't know what she's doing, cause I feel she does. Just her and her current staff need some attitude adjustments and some better "kindness" for the animals and owners. I think I'll stick to where I went today, cause I'm not a bother to them and my dog seems to be a priority.

Our family has been seeing Dr.Nancy for at least 30 years. She has saved the lives of more than one of our fur babies. My entire family including my grandparents have gone to her as their vet since I was a child. She's kind and caring and has gone above and beyond to help our family of pets over that 30 years. My kitty was just recently seen for an emergency pyometra surgery and Dr.Nancy and her team again saved her life, kept her comfortable and didn't make me feel awkward or uncomfortable about being an overly protective cat mom when I had to bring her back in four times over a two week period because she wouldn't keep the cone or recovery suit on and was pulling out her staples. Dr. Nancy is truly the best!!! Runey and her Momma Gypsy are so grateful for Dr.Nancy and so am I! ❤️🌻
