How to Save Money at Front Range Veterinary Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I brought in my cat Buddy and heard the words no pet owner wants to hear. Dr. Lindsay Foster was frank with me about his condition and prognosis, and was SO kind and compassionate in helping me come to the decision to set him free from his old and failing body. The entire staff at FRVC made one of the worst days of my life just a little bit lighter. After getting checked in and waiting for our appointment, Elle at the front desk let me keep up on the counter because he felt safer higher up. Even though he was yowling and scared, she still spoke to him softly and sweetly and reassured us both. After coming to the decision of euthanasia with Dr. Foster, we were taken to a lovely back room where I was able to sit with him and hold him for as long as I needed to. The entire process was explained beforehand and I was able to ask any and all questions I needed to. After he was gone, Dr. Foster sat with me and reassured me that I made the kindest choice for Buddy. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to Dr. Foster and all the wonderful staff at FRVC ❤️🐾

Dr. Foster has been the most compassionate, caring vet I have come across. She clearly has a passion for it and has shown so much kindness towards our dog. He recently became sick and we had a hard time figuring out what the issue was. The vet technicians were very patient and understanding with our situation. Dr. Foster took the time to personally call us back when we had concerns and showed genuine interest. I am so happy to have found her as our vet and recommend her to anyone who loves their pet as much as I do!

No Way

I have come to this Clinic a few times with my fur babies for various appointments, once for a euthanasia. Everytime, they have provided compassionate care and professional kindness in the best ways. Their prices are fair and the technicians and doctors are really amazing with animals. I would recommend to a friend or a family. If you're unhappy with your current vet- it's worth it to try this one!

Been taking my dog, Bear, to this vet for a while now. My little guy is unfortunately quite reactive and skittish, but the staff here always treats him with compassion and kindness, which is very much appreciated! Knocking off a star because prices are unfortunately quite high, but that is the state of the world right now. Definitely recommend this vet.

Took my little toy poodle in she was very lethargic, and not wanting eat or drink was having to feed her and give her water by syringe. I ended up having bloodwork done and finding out that my dog had several underlying issues I didnt know about cause until the last 4 days of her life she was esting and drinking and acting perfectly like herself, she did go on a med was on it two days before we had to put her down she didnt respond and she was really weak to the point the day I took her in when she was put down she couldnt stand or even hold her head up and thats when my heart absolutely broke cause I knew what it meant that a recovery wasnt Gods plan her. I would highly recommend Front Range Veterinary Clinic the Vets that took care of my baby were Erin ShuffleBarger and Maria Albino they're very caring and loving Vets the entire staff are wonderful and caring thank you to each and every one of you it hurts that my little baby is gone but knowing she got great care and compassion helps heal the hurt. God bless each and every one of you.😇
