How to Save Money at Peaceful Veterinary Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I can’t express enough gratitude for Peaceful Veterinary and Dr. Chapman for the compassion and care they showed during one of the hardest seasons of my life, supporting Potpot through his palliative care, guiding me through genetic preservation, and helping us say goodbye peacefully at home. The palliative care was especially meaningful because Dr. Chapman didn’t just provide medical support, she walked alongside me during the last few months, helping me thoughtfully evaluate Potpot’s quality of life and gently guiding me toward understanding when it was time to make an incredibly difficult decision. Her honesty, patience, and empathy gave me clarity during moments that felt overwhelming. I originally found Dr. Chapman through ViaGen while searching for someone experienced in genetic preservation, and from the start she brought both expertise and heart to the process. I always felt supported, informed, and deeply respected in every choice I made for Potpot. Her staff member Stacy was wonderful as well, kind, responsive, and supportive every step of the way, which made the entire experience feel even more compassionate and organized. During the at-home euthanasia, Dr. Chapman created a calm, loving environment where Potpot could remain in a familiar space surrounded by peace. She explained each step with care and honored him with such dignity, allowing me to be fully present without fear or uncertainty. What stood out most was how supported I felt, not just medically, but emotionally. Dr. Chapman truly leans in with compassion and respect, and you can feel how deeply she cares about both pets and their humans. If you’re looking for a veterinary team that leads with heart, professionalism, and genuine compassion, especially for specialized services like palliative care guidance, genetic preservation, and peaceful end-of-life support, I wholeheartedly recommend Peaceful Veterinary Care. Thank you for helping Potpot transition with such grace, love, and intention. ❤️🐾🌈🪽

I had to make one of the most difficult decisions of my life for my best friend, Shylaah. At 17 years old, she was suffering from dementia and was both deaf and nearly blind. I knew it was time to let her cross the Rainbow Bridge, but I wanted her final moments to be filled with peace, dignity, and love. Finding Peaceful Veterinary Care was truly a blessing. From my very first email, Stacy showed nothing but kindness and compassion, responding almost immediately with words that brought me comfort during an incredibly painful time. It meant more than I can express. When Dr. Chapman arrived at our home, she was gentle, patient, and incredibly understanding. She took time to speak softly to Shylaah while carefully explaining each step to me. Shylaah was so relaxed and comfortable that she began to snore, which reassured me that she felt safe and at ease. I was given all the time I needed to say goodbye, without ever feeling rushed. Afterward, Dr. Chapman wrapped Shylaah tenderly in a blanket, leaving her head free, and carried her with such care and respect. I was able to give her a few final kisses before she was gently placed in the car. Dr. Chapman was truly an angel during one of the darkest moments of my life. Though I was heartbroken, I knew Shylaah was being treated with compassion and dignity every step of the way. From the in-home euthanasia to receiving her ashes, every interaction with Dr. Chapman and Stacy was filled with warmth, kindness, and love. I will forever be grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend Peaceful Veterinary Care to anyone facing this difficult goodbye

Dr. Chapman helped give my sweet George the peaceful ending he so deeply deserved. George was with me for 19 years and lived to about 21 years old, so this was an incredibly emotional and meaningful moment for me. When she came to my home, it felt gentle and natural, never intrusive. She took time to ask questions, we even shared some laughter, and I felt truly supported through such a difficult experience. As heartbreaking as it was, there was also so much peace in the way she held the space. I had always wondered what this moment would feel like, and I’m so grateful that services and humans like Dr. Chapman exist. I remember telling her how challenging her work must be, and she shared that she feels honored to offer compassion during these hard times and understands how deeply our animals are loved. I will miss my George forever, and this moment will stay in my heart for a very long time. I’m deeply grateful for the care, kindness, and peace Dr. Chapman brought to us when we needed it most.
