How to Save Money at Tamarack Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
They took the time and care that was needed so my dog was actually able to have an exam and not even know she got her vaccines. A fantastic relief to know there's a vet that cares like this and sees the good in my previously "she's a biter" vet labeled dog. Ashley gets a 5/5 cookies rating says Lolli

This vet clinic is the most wonderful clinic I have had the pleasure of going to. I had to do one of the hardest things in my life being a pet owner. I was treated with kindness and compassion through the whole process right from the girls at the front desk to the technicians and I can't say enough wonderful things about the Doctor that explained everything to me and helped me through this heart breaking time. Saying Thank You hardly covers the compassionate Way I was treated Thank You all for everything I now know I made the right decision making you my new vet. Thank You Dawn Scott

I wanted to thank the Tamarack Veterinary Clinic staffs for an outstanding service and professionalism. It was our first visit with our dog, the atmosphere was nice and welcoming, there is a sense of family feeling where they consider your pet as if it's their own, and they even followed up the next day to see if our pet was alright. But what is more impressive is their prices are very reasonable. You have a pet, you want the best for them this is the place to take them. Thank you

I'm prefacing this with the fact that I don't usually write reviews unless my experience was especially bad. I know that statistically bad reviews are skewed due to emotional inspiration, so take this review how you will. I was referred to Tamarack Veterinary Clinic for a second opinion by someone who holds them in high regard. I was looking forward to being treated kindly and having my concerns heard after having the contrary from my previous vet. Sadly, this expectation wasn't met. Over and over. My cat wasn't doing well and had to go to Pulse Emergency where I was told he might have kidney disease. I was also told this by my previous vet, who also coldly told me " He's old, how far do you want to take this" and that I should think about euthanizing him when I asked what my options were. Which is why I sought a second opinion. I met with Dr. Suzanne Misiaszek who asked me to explain what was going on and proceeded to interrupt and talk over me as I was trying to explain. I had been through a traumatic experience and was trying to convey what had happened, but couldn't because Dr. Misiaszek was in too much of a rush to let me talk. She left to check something and never returned. I was met by one of the techs about 10 minutes later and asked if the Dr. was coming back because she was supposed to discuss something with me. The tech said she wasn't returning and she wasn't sure what I was talking about. I was told I was all done and could leave. The Dr. was supposed to look at the file that was being sent over and I had to remind them of that fact. I hadn't heard anything back for 2 days so I called and asked about my file being looked at. At first they didn't know what I was talking about. Then they told me the file had just arrived and the Dr. needed more time to review. I called again two days later where they told me again that the file had just arrived that day and the Dr. had to look it over. I finally met with the Dr. the following week and was met with an abrupt confirmation of the kidney disease diagnosis. She defended how my previous vet treated me regarding euthanatizing my cat. My cat who seems very happy and who is enjoying chin scritches and is eating lots of food. The Dr. then quickly threw a lot of jargon at me and when I tried to ask questions was met with an impatient tone. Likely due to the fact that they are busy, but it isn't fair for me to have to be responsible for this clinic's inability to manage stress. I didn't like my experience, so I decided to get my files sent to another vet. I had to call every day for over a week to try to get them to send the information. Every time I called I was met with responses ranging from "I don't have that request" to "I'll have to check to see if we're allowed to send the prescriptions." - On top of it all I was charged a prescription fee for them to, after a week, send them to my other vet. Prescriptions that I had already filled. Then they still sent the wrong prescriptions. I understand that it probably isn't amazing to have someone calling and requesting things over and over, but the frustration and derision I experienced from this vet, all while dealing with the fact that my best friend is dying, is abhorrent. I'm hoping the fact that they have a 4.7 rating means this was just a horrible one off.
