Trupanion comes thru
Vet care be expensive. I bought insurance for Mogi my great Pyraneese after spending thousands of dollars for cancer care on a pet that had recently passed. So far Trupanion has lived up to there word. Once a claim is submitted they have been fast, fair, and thourough. Thank you!!

Amazing service, quick and ease of filing
Healthy paws is wonderful! My cat has had a policy for over 7 years and luckily have had only a few claims.
When I got my pup, I figured I should do the same. What a godsend. At 10 months old, Little Annie ended up with 2 bad knees and needed 2 luxating patella surgeries to fix them. An absolute fortune per leg. Submitting invoices right on their app, so you can start a claim same day was was a huge reassurance. They direct deposit to you once completed, so no hassle of waiting on checks. They’ve really mastered this process which helped ease this worried dog mama’s mind while taking care of her. I was reimbursed all that was stated in the policy.
Overall, I am highly pleased with healthy paws and would recommend them for sure.

Deny claims without contacting the owners for additional information
Before my dog had a severe accident I would have given Pets Best a 10 for everything. They always paid my claims timely and without issue. But, 8 weeks ago my dog fractured her vertebrae and suffered short term neurological weakness. I filed the claim for the emergency clinic and the vet specialist after I paid over $8K. I was expecting 30 days later to get reimbursed for 90% of that amount. instead I received an update of a denied claim due to lack of medical records. I authorized both the emergency clinic and the vet to send all records to Pets Best and was assured they did. I was NOT CONTACTED by Pets Best to assist with getting the records even though I already had them. I could have provided them and the claim could have been processed. Instead I had to resubmit the claims and HOPE they are paid this time (probably in 30 - 60 days). The lack of customer service is the worst part. I tried to call Pets Best and was on hold for at least an hour before i had to hang up to get another call. There is NOT OTHER WAY to get in touch with them as they DO NOT have live Chat or an email address to send a question to. HORRIBLE way to treat your CUSTOMERS PETS BEST!!!!!

The first claim I submitted was for a minor accidental ingestion and treatment. I received a message that claims processing may take up to a month because of covid causing delays for the company. After a month I got a second message that They had reached out to my vet for further records to verify the claim (I had already submitted full records related to the claim). I contacted my vet, who said they had not received any communication from petsbest asking for further info. But my vet gave me a copy of all my dogs records to send to pets best. The very next day, I received a 3rd message from pets best stating that my claim was denied because 'the services being claimed are not covered'. However in the explanation of benefits attached, it only said that further info had been requested, not that the service wasn't covered. And they hadn't even given me a full 24 hours to send the the additional records before denying my claim. Will be contesting this decision. And requesting a refund and cancellation of the policy. VERY DISAPPOINTED! NO COVERAGE!
