LOVE Healthy Paws!

Healthy Paw is so wonderful! My 2 year old husky/shepard got bit by a rattlesnake while at my mother in law's ranch, and then a few months later needed emergency surgery for an unrelated reason. In both instances Healthy Paws was so helpful. Their process to upload invoices for claims is so easy and if they need further documents it is such a smooth process for the vets to submit. I received both reimbursement checks in a very timely fashion, and they even checked in about Clover's surgery. I am very happy with Healthy Paw and am glad to have them for my pups

Rip off

Great experience and payouts but due to continued outrageous premium increases I will be dumping them soon. 22% increase in the last year! That is after I increased the deductible to $1000 so that I could afford the premiums of $49 a month. Now my premiums are $63 a month with $1000 deductible!! Crazy! And that is just for one dog

they have raised their rates TWICE now…

they have raised their rates TWICE now since I've been with them. in les than 4 years. One of my six cat-children gets chronic UTIs and is prescribed orbax and then acepromazine, amitriptyline, or valium 9usually valium because the results are immediately and he will go pee without straining or crying) to relax his urethra from spasm so he can pee. My doctor has written a note I have to send to HealthyPaws EVERY TIME he goes thru a UTI. Could the put it in my fiel? Heck yes. Do they? heck no! Being that it's chronic and ideopathic this is frequent, other than booster shots and checkups that is suually why he goes to the doctor. But because valium and amitriptyline are also used as "behavioural" drugs HP won't cover it without a struggle. What behaviour am I trying to alter other than a blocked urethra that cost 550$ at the emergency vet (over an hour away) for overnight sedation and catherization then $300 at my regular vet for followup the next day? The kicker is the valium is a controlled substance so the doctor gives me only 8 pills (he takes half). It's FIVE FLIPPING DOLLARS. The ace is $7, and I get a month supply amitripyline for under $10. So they are just nickel and diming a covered expense. So a claim that is $0 for exam+60 for liquid orbax OR $30 for tablets+$5 for valium+$25 for onsior ($100~$130) VS blockage that would cost $850 <--cathertization only, not emegerncy surgery they find every way they can to NOT cover expenses then haev the gall to raise rates twice, The cats that aren't dinged with "preexisting condtions" I will move before the rates go up. To raise rates during a pandemic. HealthyPaws are lowlifes.

I paid for a 6 month coverage for pet insurance both accidental and routine and I am not happy with how the reimbursement was handled on the first claim. I will not be renewing this coverage when my six months is up.

Everyone I have dealt with at Embrace was compassionate, professional and fair.

Embrace employees always listen to what I have to say. They are professional and pleasant to deal with. The insurance coverage for both of my dogs has been wonderful. No one want to have a very sick dog but having Embrace Pet Insurance coverage has helped ease my anxiety. I recommend them to all my friends with pets.

Trupanion is a *garbage* company

Trupanion is a *garbage* company. My family member got special coverage for her dog because she was going to have puppies. The dog ended up needing an emergency C-section and both mother and puppy stayed in the hospital for a couple nights. Trupanion did not cover any expenses related to the puppy because "he didn't have a plan yet." Also, they actually don't cover most of the supplements they claim to cover, either. They will try to make everything little tiny thing a different condition so you have to pay a deductible on each condition. They are completely unwilling to listen to any client complaint, even coming from a veterinarian on behalf of the client. Prescription food is basically not covered. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone, ever. They actually only "cover" a narrow scope of conditions, supplements, and medications and try to weasel out of everything else. Save your money and your mental health and keep looking.
