dont bother
we picked up our puppy from the breeder and the next day she had issues. The breeder provided 30 days coverage thru Trupanion as long as you activated the policy within 24 hours which we did. She had a 6 hour drive, was exposed to a new environment and the first time away from her pack. She had diareha and we and the breeder weren't concerned..not unusual due to all the changes and stress she went thru. This continued for a day or 2 and we took her to a pet hospital. They declined the claim saying it was a pre existing condition.
Beware of insurance company definitions. To me, I'm not a dr, vomiting, a headache, diareha etc are SYMPTOMS of something and that is why you go to the vet. It is NOT a pre exisiting condition (it existed before you went to the vet!!!). If your pet has some symptoms and you take it the vet it won't be covered...because its a pre exiting condition....really!
