Thank you for saving our lives!

After having found out that my precious Mini was diagnosed with a liver tumor, I really didn;t know what to do. I figured at 14 years old, Trupanion might not cover her surgery. However, after calling Trupanion and talking to Rachel in cusotmer care, she was very sympathetic to my situation, I found out within a few days that they indeed would cover her surgery! My decision to go ahead with the surgery was made easier just knowing that they would financially be by my side, otherwise I would have had to make a very different and unpleasant decision. Mini is now two weeks into her recovery, and we are happy and healthy. I don't know what I would have done withou you. Trupanion you are the best!

Big Fan of Trupanion

After researching pet insurance, I too went with Trupanion. Explanations were clear and I also liked the sliding deductible / fee calcualtor on the web site. My beautiful chocolate lab recently had exploratory surgery for a possible intestinal blockage. (Turns out, no blockage, but both the emerg and our regular vet felt surgery was a must!) Needless to say, this was a pricey procedure. Trupanion did everything they said they would and my reimbursement check arrived in a timely fashion. (I had the check within one month of his surgery date -- it would have been faster but we used regular mail for vet records instead of fax.) Plus, our local rep Scot M. followed up with me every step of the way keeping me infomred of my claim status. I have recommended Trupanion to every dog owner I know.

Couldn't ask for much more

This was our first claim, and it was a biggie. Our poor puppy slipped her collar and got hit by a car. The folks at Trupanion were awesome. Not only did they expedite our claim in a very reasonable amount of time, they also went above and beyond my expectations and helped us with getting some of the forms filled out by the vet hospital. I've not experienced that kind of help and service from an insurance company before. If that's not enough, there is no doubt in my mind they actually cared about our little girl. There were constant questions about how she was healing, etc. In my opinion, the questions came from sincere concern. I am so glad I had insurance when I needed it the most. Based on this, my first experience, I'd have to say if you own a dog then the insurance is a must. I recommend Trupanion to anyone.

Trupanion saved my dogs life!

I couldn't sleep one night and decided to research on Pet Insurance co. Because I already worked for a vet, I knew of a couple of companies I DEFINITELY didn't want. I decided on Trupanion. About 3 days outside of our waiting period our Lab, Lexi, blew her right knee. Vet said she needed a TPLO and the cost was about $2,700. We contacted Trupanion and we decided to submit a pre-approval. Much to our relief it was approved and covered!! One year later, she had blown her other knee and needed surgery for it. Again, Trupanion pre-approved it. We went in on a Friday morning and before I even got home from dropping her off, my vet called to say her bloodwork came back abnormal, in fact, she seemed to be in liver failure! (Which surprised all of us as she is completely asymptomatic!) My vet consulted with a specialist and it was decided on Monday afternoon that she would need a liver biopsy and ultrasound immediatley. The following morning, Lexi and I hauled ourselves out to San Diego from Vegas and met with the specialist. After meeting with the specialist and being presented with an estimate of $4,000 I immediately called Trupanion and asked if there was anyway we could do a pre-approval in about 2 hours. My representatives were Anna and Gina, not only did they keep me up to date as it was being handled, but they truely seemed concerned about her health. So between the Specialty Hospital and Trupanion I had my pre-approval!!! I picked her up the next day, paying with Ca

A customer for life!! Thank you Trupanion!!

I like many others wasn't sure if I wanted to purchase pet insurance. I kept asking myself if it was a good investment or should I just start putting away $50 month for the "just in case fund". Lexi was 12 weeks old when she had her first seizure. At 14 weeks she had an MRI to determine what caused the seizure. I'll never forget the call from the vet informing me that Lexi had a severe case of Hydrocephelus and asked that I come in to discuss treatment. The odds of Lexi making her first birthday were slim to none but because of the exceptional care and insurance coverage from Trupanion we have been able to find the right mix of medication while giving Lexi the quality of life she deserves. We celebrated Lexi's first birthday in August! Over the past year Trupanion has never questioned a claim and has responded promptly on each claim submitted. Did I mention that Lexi's medical care has cost over $8,000 in the past year?So if any of you are asking yourself if pet insurance is worth the investment just remember my story. I brought home a healthy 8 week old puppy who passed her first vet check. The $50/month I pay to Trupanion has paid off in so more ways than I could have imagined. Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
