Very good service
Excellent service and amazingly quick claim response time. I would fax in my claim and at times, before I knew it, I would receive a check in the mail by the end of the week. I'm amazed, as most insurance companies take forever to pay out claims. Trupanion processes them with utmost urgency and has excellent customer service.
They have increased premiums over the years since my dogs were puppies 7 years ago, but even with the increased cost, it is well worth the peace of mind and the excellent service.
I would recommend anyone with a pet to get Trupanion.

Best insurance company I have dealt with
Trupanion have been providing coverage for my dog for the past 6 years. They are exceptionally good at providing me with the service that I require: My claims are expedited from the time I submit them, and payment is always prompt. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

EXCELLENT PLAN!!!
Trupanion is a WONDERFUL insurance plan for petowners. They keep you informed on the status of your claims and claims are paid in a timely manner, with absolutely no hassle. Anyone with a pet should get this insurance.

Trupanion plays the bait and switch game! BEWARE!
Initially I was very pleased with Trupanion, low rates for their zero dollar deductible for my 3 dogs. Although there was a huge amount of paper work to enroll -- documents of every vet visit each dog had ever had in their life plus copies of the vets chart notes. THEN after the first year they nearly TRIPLED the rates. They said it was because of the rapidly advancing veterinary technology available and the "possible" associated costs. It's bait and switch pure and simple. I am going back to my old pet insurance. Trupanion is a SCAM!!
Monthly Cost
Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
