Fantastic Company

We weren't sure if we should purchase insurance for our pure bred boxer puppy. Our vet encouraged us to consider it for at least 1 year. Trupanion has consistently done what they said they would do and consistently paid out what they said they would....no questions asked!! We are so glad we have insurance for our puppy. We have needed it!

THEY STINK and I DROPPED MY DOGS COVERAGE

They tried to over double my pet coverage from $38 to $83...Their excuse is the rising cost of care for dogs... BULL...I called up very aggrivated they tried to explain themselves with rising costs and I simply asked has the cost over doubled?? I could see a 10 or 15% hike but not almost 200%...So instead of my $38 a month they will get NOTHING.. Save your money and put it aside for a rainy day when your dog may need it...You'll be money ahead and the vets generally will work with you if you need to make payments for your best friend...Even with Trupanion you still have to pay for vet visits, shots, and such...I see no point in having it.

Always Been Great, Prompt

We have had to submit several claims over the past year for our senior kitty. Trupanion has always been super helpful in answering questions, and the claim submission process is easy and quick. It let's us focus on helping our kitty get better, instead of fighting with an insurance company.

Excellent coverage & service

Dash has allergic dermatitis, & Trupanion has covered & continues to cover 90% of nearly every expense. This coverage has made it possible to afford state-of-the-art care for our beloved puppy.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
