Rate was increased after claim

My dog was bit by another dog in his ear and the ear is hard to heal. So after the initial emergency room visit there were several other visits for the continuing problem of this ear. Trupanion did pay, but I had to go back to them over the deductible, as they tried to charge me the $100.00 twice. They did send it back after my Doctor sent them a letter explaining that it was the same problem. So all in all they were good, but right after they paid me I was notified that my monthly policy cost was increasing. I am saying I will not recommend this company due to the rate increase and the initgial visit at the emergency room they paid no part of. They do no pay for Doctor's examination.

Fantastic

I love this company...they have paid all of my claims for my dog without any questions and the best part is that it was all done in less than a week. I am so glad I have this insurance for my dogs. What a great feeling it is to know that if my dogs become ill I have trupanion to help me...Thanks Trupanion

MY DOG ATE RAT POISON, RUSHED TO EMERGENCY STOMACH PUMPED AND 4 HOURS LATER RECIEVED CONTACT FROM TRUPANION! HAD BLOOD WORK DONE AT OWN VET, ON VITAMIN K FOR 4 WEEKS THEN MORE BLOOD WORK

Trupanion has been a huge help

Roxy has used trupanion a few times this time for allergies. It has been a huge help, my vet was able to run allergy tests because trupanion will pay for them instead of just treating with meds to see if it gets better. I recommend it to EVERY pet owner it is a low monthly cost for a huge savings if your pet needs it.

Amazing service

Years ago I tried a pet insurance company but they found a loophole to deny everything. I spent over $10,000 over his 14 years because he then was uninsurable and I thought pet insurance was a scam. But then I found Trupanion. In 2009 when I got a puppy I researched pet insurance companies. I found Trupanion to have the best coverage and best prices. I switched to them and have insured 3 dogs with them. I must say, the service has been absolutely outstanding and personal. Their claim process and reimbursement is fast. They keep me informed every step of the way. I had to put my 13 yr old dog to sleep last week and before I could even contact Trupanion to tell them, Cynthia Howell contacted me with condolences and said she already took care of cancelling the policy, issuing my refund and contacted the vet for the final bill. She was so kind and saved me having to make that awful call to take care of business during my time of grief. I also got a personal handwritten note that was not just some canned wording. She knew my dogs, she knew the one who I lost prior to Trupanion. That card means so much. Another time I made a change to my deductible and didn't fully understand the details. Trupanion rep assisted me to correct the error I made and paid out my outstanding claims. I now have an 8 month old puppy whom I insured with Trupanion from the day I got him. He ended up needing a $2,038 surgery. Other companies would not have covered this surgery, but Trupanion has. I will sing

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
