CCL Rupture Repair

Having never made a claim we were a little apprehensive when we were forced to make a claim for a very expensive surgery for our GSD for TPLO surgery for her CCL rupture. We have been extremely pleasantly surprised by Trupanion's speedy processing and true to their word of the coverage we had. Sometimes we expect insurers to look for a way out but Trupanion has really impressed us with their assistance in helping our GSD get the treatment she needs and in her recovery.

Amazing!

I rarely go online to rate companies, but I feel compelled to write one up for Trupanion as they have been nothing short of amazing!! Not too long after I picked up Minka from the breeder, she ingested a rather large seed from a coconut palm in my parents' backyard. The next morning when I woke up to take Minka on her morning walk, she seemed constipated and vomited and it looked as if her stomach was slightly distended. I immediately brought her to the vet who had to surgically remove the seed that had distended her stomach to three times it's size! The bill was huge (around $3k) and I wasn't sure that my Trupanion pet insurance had "kicked in" just yet. Fortunately, even though the insurance hadn't become active just yet, Trupanion paid for the surgery and I think I paid around $750, as I mentioned Trupanion didn't have to do that and I consider Trupanion an amazing company and highly recommend it to any pet owner!!

Trupanion is the "king" of pet insurance

I have two papillons which are both insured by Trupanion. Unfortunately, I tend to have bad luck....but I always know they have my back. Recently one of my girls had a very rare tendon avulsion in her hind leg. She needed lots of xrays and an extensive surgery done by a specialist. We used our credit card for the purchases (which was over 2 grand) and within NINE days We had our money back the full 90 percent. Not only have I had great experience on the money side with Trupanion, but I am big on over the phone service. In the five years that I have been with Trupanion, I have NEvER gotten someone rude or that didn't know their stuff. They truly want to help in the best way they can. I feel very secure with my choice of Trupanion years ago and would never change my mind.

Trupanion works hard to satify your claim.

A sudden illness called Pancreatitis fell upon one of our loving dogs. Having Trupanion on my side took the financial stress out of the entire ordeal. Trupanion offers ONE awesome plan which makes it all so easy. Most important is the fact that there is total communication between you, them and the vet. So reassuring. Truly, the most compassionate reps. I have ever dealt with in any Co. Thank you everyone at Trupanion.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
