First-Time Claim

This was my first time filing a claim, and it was so quick and easy. The claim form was easy to find on their website, and my veterinary office did most of the heavy lifting. There were a lot of email follow-ups from Trupanion, and in less than 2 weeks, I received a detailed breakdown of what would be paid, what wouldn't, and why.

Excellent Service

Trupanion answered my questions, processed my claims quickly and kept me informed of progress on the claim.They dealt directly with the vet so I did not have to do that. There was a deductible and ineligible expenses, including any assessment from the vet. This may be common practice with insurance companies. I received close to 50% back when the tax, ineligible expenses and deductible was deducted. However, they will continue to reimburse expenses if the problem is ongoing which is good.

Great Service, Fast!

We submitted a claim for our dog Nike's stomach issues and it was handled extremely fast, I even received an update on a Sunday which I found to be outstanding service. The claim was processed immediately and payment issued immediately as well. So far I have been very happy with Trupanion and knowing they are there to help if my dogs have any issues. We just recently got another puppy and I immediately enrolled her into the Trupanion plan as well.

good insurance for my cat baby

My cat is diagnosed with breast cancer, had the surgery remove the cancer for $1200. my insurance covered 90% of the cost after my $400 deductible. get a check $720 from insurance after two week of processing time.

Great insurance

My dog developed a life threatening disease that requires daily medication, supplements, and prescription food for life. Trupanion has always been great with covering his medication, periodic lab tests, supplements, and even help with prescription food. I would not be able to afford to do this for my dog if it wasn't for the insurance. I silently thank Trupanion every day!

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
