Trupanion was great with everything. Just wish the claim process was automatic instead of getting pre approvals or paying up front and getting reimbursed

Ok insurance company
I have two insurance companies and this one pays the best; however if they are your secondary - it will take a lot of time to get reimbursed and many phone calls and anxiety. The employees have always been helpful --- but still I've have to reopen claims (on same condition) even after send EOB of other provider. I will be canceling the other insurance so I can only deal with the one.

Claim for Snake Bite
My dog was bitten by a rattlesnake. After returning home from both the veterinarian office and the animal hospital, I contacted Trupanion. They helped me with the two claim forms and sent an email confirmation of payment right away. Trupanion worked with the veterinarian staff and the animal hospital staff to get the correct invoices. There was absolutely no hassle or work on my part. Within a week, I received two checks for both claims.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
My little "Puffy" had a horrible bout of Pancreatitis that left me feeling nervous about whatever the outcome would be.
I asked the vet that Saturday morning when she was diagnosed and in a terrible state. "What I should do?"
She stated "Get in the car and take her to the Emergency Center" which is exactly what I did. After presenting my credit card to whatever register needed/requested it, she was soon on the road to recovery.
It definitely took time. 2 weeks and many other visits later, Puffy is back to her normal, happy self and I couldn't be more grateful.
It was expensive as Puffy was on fluids and medication but I kept saying to myself "If Trupanion covers 60% then they are worth every penny." Puffy was out of pain and on to recovery.
Trupanion covered closer to 90 percent of the items they said they would and now that Puffy is back to where she should be, Trupanion is more than worth every penny. You are my heros! Thank you for the bottom of my heart!

Very good and better than expected
I am a long time owner of large dogs (Newfoundlands) and have resisted pet insurance despite enormous medical bills because I could never find people who used insurance that were pleased. I recently got a puppy and my vet convinced me that Trupanion was worth a serious look. So far so good they are responsive, good communicators and for the first three months I have saved far more than the premium I'm paying for a zero deductible. I'm satisfied
Monthly Cost
Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
