Top Notch

I love Trupanion. I have a young Irish Setter that was diagnosed with IBS when she was about 7 months old. Lots of tests, special foods, very expensive. Trupanion covered at 90% on Vet bills and 50% on food. I'd turn a claim in on a Monday and usually I'd be reimbursed by Friday....their CS folks are friendly and helpful...I had VPI before but never understood what I'd be reimbursed...Trupanion is easy 90% on a non wellness visit. Simple, quick and easy to do business with...a 10 and I tell all my friends!!!

Good insurance company

There pricing has been consistent. Customer service and processing is great. I wish they covered part of the doctors exam.

Excellent Service

Trupanion was there when we needed it. In the past when our pets had become ill, the vet bills would mount quickly. After a couple of trips to the vet cost us a few thousand dollars, my wife and I invested in a Trupanion policy. While we hoped we would never have to file a claim, we wanted to know that in the event that an unexpected emergency occurred, we would have financial support for the vet costs. Unfortunately one of our cats was stricken with acute leukemia. After two weeks of tests and blood transfusions, the only course of treatment left was to put our beloved Cleo to sleep. The loss of one of our pets was very difficult, but thankfully we had Trupanion and the vet bills did not add to the grief.

Great pet insurance

claims are paid fast. it covers most thingsonly complaint would be the fast rising premium rates. They have increased over 100% in the last 8 years. I don't believe it has to do entirely with rising vet costs as they have definitely not increased that much.

Trupanion's Lauren Littlefield is the best!

Dear Gina:I received your email address from your employee, Lauren Littlefield. I asked Lauren for her manager’s email address because I wanted to write to you to tell you what a wonderful employee Lauren is and what a wonderful job Lauren is doing! I have a Dachshund named Manfred who is currently in the hospital with a large ruptured disc on his back. I spoke with Lauren numerous times last week to get preapproval for my dog’s surgery which took place last Friday. I had to make sure that we could afford to save Manfred’s life because we love him so much. Manfred will be 6 next month. Lauren was so wonderful, kind, understanding, sympathetic, empathetic, and quick acting in processing the details I gave her that I had to tell you about it! Lauren is worth her weight in gold, she really is. Lauren is probably the nicest stranger on the phone that I have ever spoke with in my life and I am 53 years old. Lauren was so nice to me that it made me cry because anymore you just don’t expect strangers to be that nice to you. I did take the survey I was emailed but I wanted to take the time to reiterate my feelings personally to you as Lauren’s manager. Lauren helped me get through one of the most difficult days I’ve ever had in my life. It’s a horrible thing not knowing if you can afford to save your beloved dog. My husband and I have had six dogs over the past 20 years and at one time or another one of the dogs has had to go to the emergency room but it

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
