Compassionate and expeditious
I am so lucky to have a healthy pup and Trupanion! Puppies can find trouble easily and mine was no exception. She found a toxic flower bulb and before we knew what had happened she was near renal failure. It took her 3 months to get a clean bill of health and thousands of dollars. Thank goodness I had Trupanion on my side!!

A perfect service
The best thing about your service is that I don't have to be concerned about whether or not issues will be resolved. Everything just happens in a timely, efficient way. Bottom line for me is that we do not have to weigh decisions about our dog's life knowing that coverage is handled so well.

Best money every spent!
I gotta admit that at first i was ready to pull the plug on this pet insurance thing. My monthly rates were increasing every year (went up almost $15/month just last year!) i was frustrated and after never having submitted a claim for my 7 1/2 yr old dog i was starting to feel that the money could be better used elsewhere. Thankfully i didnt! My dogs vet bills started adding up and i finally submitted my first 2 claims and had NO difficulty getting reimbursed for my expense. The turn around was unbelieveably fast! I had my first cheque in about a week or a little more! Since I've already paid my deductible for these particular illnesses (which was steep in order to afford the monthly payments!) i can now freely submit claims for additional expenses for these 2 illnesses and be reimbursed 90%. This is a huge relief and piece of mind knowing i will never be put in the position of having to say "its time to let him go because i just simply cannot afford this anymore". Thats gotta be the worst feeling ever! But reality IS that many ppl face this issue every day. I would never want finances be the determining factor as to whether my pet lives.. Or dies. I am now a HUGE advocacy for pet insurance.. I talk to everyone about it! I will NEVER own a pet without it ever again!
Also wanted to add that the reps and agents are incredibly helpful (Shelley..you know who you are)..friendly..and not pushy at all

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions. Whichever insurer you choose, it pays to enroll early!
