Almost 10 years of friendly, prompt service

I have 2 English Labradors ages 6 and 10. Both have had very few claims, with relatively minor illnesses, however whenever they have a claim it has been responded to with great speed. The staff answer the questions in a very friendly , caring manner on the phone and assist me when I don't know the answer.

I want to say Thank You for your help in the recent health crisis for my little Aussie, Bailey. Knowing I had the insurance made it so much easier to make the decision to get her expensive treatment. Your claims service is amazing. Checks are sent right away. You kept me informed as to what was going on and answered my questions right away. Customer service at it's finest. Bailey is doing well now and wants to say Thank You!!

I'm so pleased to have Trupanion for my little pug

My little pug has chronic bladder infections, The e-coli is in her bladder wall unlike a "regular" bladder infection. It does not go away and she is taking Clavaseptin on almost a regular basis. She recently had her elongated palate shortened to allow her to breath easier in the hot weather. Your responses have always been that day that you received the claim and within a week, I have been reimbursed. I tell people how pleased I have been with Trupanion, in your response time, and a couple of times when I have called, your staff have been so very courteous and helpful. Thank you for being their for her and her mommy and daddy.

The best pet insurance company, Ever!

I continue to be amazed by Trupanion's prompt performance. Our Bernese Mountain dog has had some major health issues recently and every time we have had a claim it has been paid promptly often receiving confirmation emails the same day that our claim is being processed. If I have a questions, it is always dealt with concerned and pleasant individual who makes sure that my questions have been answered and resolved.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
