Pros and Cons

We cover all basic expenses such as vaccines, fleas & worms. We cover doctor fees. -But, Insurance is good to have for things that you do not predict. Such as Cancer. Trupanion is great because they good for what they say. They do cover in a situation of crisis. The only thing I dont' like is that I think my dog's file has opinions and comments written on there. I know that because the way customer service acts. I think they should be taken off because they do not have anything to do with the service or product Trupanion sells. Nor does it have anything to do with the payment Trupanion requires. In a nutshell, cs or anyone's opinion should be kept to themselves - we are doing business with the service- no comments needed or opinions needed to swing things - The opinions makes the product look not to its best standards. It's like a medical facility where staff is not focused on the terminally ill - but, focused on influences or opinions about the patient. It makes the medical service look cheap.

Best Insurance Company Ever

I've used Trupanion for nearly 4 years now. And I can honestly say it's the best insurance company I've ever used (for pets OR for people). They process claims quickly, they communicate every step of the way, and they've never balked at a claim. I recommend them without reservation.

The very BEST

Trupanion has been amazing!! I don't know what we would have done without the help this amazing pet insurance. My puppy would not be here now because we would not have been able to afford to help him. Trupanion is the best.

I would never recommend this company!

I will never recommend this company to anyone! I called multiple times before I started a policy, what they told me seemed to good to be true. I asked multiple times, whats the catch. Sure enough after paying $50 a month for over a year, I finally had to use them. What a joke. $1200 vet bill that was broken up in 2 vet visits (so I could actually afford to pay it) and Trupanion says it is not the same problem! I called to verify it was indeed the same incident. They then said I need to have my vet email them a letter with all the info. So now I am begging my poor vet to take time out of his practice to email a ridiculous letter because one word was omitted from the issue description. On top of this they have changed my policy 3 times without telling me, resulting in being charged $10 more monthly for the last 7 months. So now I have to fight to not only get my vet bill paid, but reimbursed for the monthly fraud! Please take warning! This company is a scam. I know we all want to do whats best for our loved ones, but this will only stress and hurt you in the end!

Full 90% reimbursement

No hassle with vet charges. If reasonable, no need for any negotiations. Submit the claim and 90% promptly reimbursed. Good customer service. Our dog requires daily medications costing $120/month. No problem > 18 months on meds

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
